F'in hell Lammy Jammy is a good time! TONS of nice bikes. We're partying at the pool.. Great rides.. The whole even is coming of swimingly!
Bad news though.. Send you positive thoughts and messages to Mark at Scooter-Speed.. He was in an accident and has a broken leg. He was working SO hard to get everyone's last minute orders filled and bikes fixed motors rebuilt etc.. Couldn't have happened to a better guy! R Ride safe people. Hopefully video to come |

Started fiddling with fuel lines today after being inspired by voodoo to rig up a fuel level indicator. I must have bumped the petcock when changing the fuel line, because when returning to it after lunch I found half a tank of fuel had dripped out and flooded the frame tunnel, was seeping through the floor seams, and pooling on the shed floor. I've been sniffing petrol all afternoon.
I'll post some photos in the project area later if anyone's interested. |

Yesterday we cleaned the carb on my '75 and wow it was gross, no wonder I was having so much problems with it. We placed a large SIP order for goodies that the 50/r will be getting. We are having so much fun with small frames if you can't tell. Soon the little projects will dwindle away and we can get back to working on the PK and the ET3 who have some large insane problems. We gotta take the rims off of the 50/r as they are going to the powder coater. We also got a small frame bbq rack that will get a powder coat too (its grossly rusty). Keeping the patina of the 50/r but giving it some flair. Oh and a new seat and new tires!

Your thoughts? Vespa rotisserie
I almost want to run out & grab this on sale @HF for $50, regularly $80. With a little modification, it might make a great 'rotisserie' for empty frame body work, painting and even some preliminary assembly.
![]() 1000 pound capacity I think I'd connect to the frame right thru the fork tube, with a way to tighten it when the scooter is pointed straight out horizontally from the support. If it tried to tip being supported at only one end, I could add some weight to the base or lengthen that center base piece. Very common for cars, supporting both ends, but Google gave me mostly Vespa motor stands, including this thread https://modernvespa.com/forum/post1729412#1729412 w/ tons of stands for the motor AND it had this from our friend Abuello ![]() adjustable & multi positional, click the link to see all the things it can do. Better than my idea, but w/ the cheap on sale stand it would need more work and more pieces. |

We pre-ordered our rally packs for Seattle Scooter Insanity. Hoping to bring home a trophy from the show and shine on saturday. We are bringing our two most unique scoots. From what we have been told people have seen a Allstate Compact but never a running one.... And I am hoping to have the best Vintage with my 1952. We decided that a two hour scoot on the hottest days of the year would be no fun and forgot to book a hotel anyways. So we decided to just do a day trip and show off our most unique bikes and see friends. We hope to see you this weekend and hope that we can bring home a trophy!!!! (We have been scooting for over 10 years with never a hope for one until these two bikes came into our lives.)

Cheers Bitz, Mike and Terry..
B... I'm still considering making a custom high seat back.. that goes up about 3 feet and comes to a sharp point.. then just upholstering the middle section between the two rods.. I can see it in my head.. just have to figure out how to make it.. I'd need a tube bender and flattener.. anyway I think it would look interesting... it'd be removable.. |

Happy 4th ppl. Today I went to the Scooter Insanity event in south Seattle and had a great time. I met Nuttmeg & hubby there, finally getting a chance to see her '52 Allstate. It's a little battered, had a hard, honest life, but it's all there(now) and it all works.
I love some of the details, aluminum cowls & mudguard for example. Everybody else did too - winner in Vintage category. Congrats Nuttmeg! Wish I had a pic, but now I hope YOU will post one up w/ your trophy. Other categories were Best Modern, Best Brap and People's Choice. Best Brap? What? I learned that's for the most impressive muffler. Oh hell, I got that giant noisy thing on my bike so I fired up & revved a bunch w/ lots of good 'popcorn' when coming off the throttle, but got beat by a noisy big pipe Lambretta down from Canada. He cheated though cuz he did his while doing a smokey burnout ![]() I was doomed. They had a few other competitions, most ppl on a bike , poke a plastic sword into a small plastic doughnut at modest speed, etc. Also a 'slow rider ' contest, LAST one over the finish line w/o touching feet wins. aHA, this one is made for me, I always do this pulling up to a red lite if I can!!! Wrong! I got badly spanked & crossed FIRST in our group of three & was immediately eliminated. |

We are not certain which Allstate really won the trophy. The 1952 got a lot of love but people have not seen a running Puch Allstate either. I piled on a Morphos. Dan did a slow race. Here's some pictures.

On my last day in Seattle I talked the wife into crashing the Scooter insanity rally. We really didn't have much time and we only stayed for a beer, but I did see them making Balut on the back rack of P. Disgusting.

The rally sounded cooler than our usual fare here. Well done Nutmegg, and better luck next time Voodoo!
Yesterday we had a ride to an old warehouse and found a hole through the fence... it was great inside, and we were entertained by some racing drones as well. ![]() ![]() ![]() ⚠️ Last edited by Ginch on UTC; edited 1 time

Mexican Scooter Gang
Yesterday I was on the VBA and stopped for lunch at Tacos La Bamba, my favorite local taqueria. While I was waiting inside for my order, I noticed a small crowd of Mexican guys had gathered around where I had my scooter parked. I saw the owner Carlos was among them, so I went out to say hello. They were all completely fascinated with my scooter; pointing and taking pictures. The all wanted to know how old it was, how fast it was, if I was going to paint it. Then a big argument broke out about whether it should be painted or stay like it is. Of course i told them it was staying as-is. Before it was all over I had a few phone numbers of guys, including Carlos, who were all interested in finding vintage scooters (not an easy task around here).
Hopefully I can help these guys find some bikes and I'll have some local friends to ride and talk scooter with. ![]() |
