Ordered up some goodies from Hodgespeed, all stuff that can't be gotten on the US side like the DRT selector, a front rack for the Primmy, some SIP tools, and a couple spares on that funny M11 DRT nut for the runner tree. Will be a fun box to get!

the dexter gave a nice road rumble n stayed put over leafy manhole covers unlike their s1 or s83....... nowt like a sideways slip to tighten your manhole

Decoked my Pinasco head today..but couldnt understand why when I torqued it back up there was no compression. Im not sure but it may have had something to do with a washer that Id popped back onto the cylinder rods so I never lost it when reassembling

Seems to have forced a sliver off my head flange. Managed to swiss file it off and no damage seems to have been done to the sealing face...Long story short, the old girl starts up fine now and it seems to have been a lucky escape!

Oh....renewed my fuel hose today too....The last owner seemed to take it down to where the gear changer cables exit the body, and then back up behind the cylinder. Scratches head emoticon.

Bunch of fun with the Stella today.

I pulled the 22t clutch and replaced the plates to see if that would fix the drag. It didn't, so I put the 21t back in.

Fortunately, I ditched the castle nut for the regular hex nut, so it's now a trivial task to swap clutches.

Also, installed my fuel pump with a regulator and gauge.



It's ugly right now, but what isn't on this bike?

I wanted to POC it before I started losing too much sleep over how to permanently mount everything. Right now, I'm happy with everything but the aesthetics.

Pressure-wise, it sits at 3 psi when parked a steady 4 psi when the bike is running. No more stuttering at WOT when the fuel tank is below about 3/4 full. I had a kink in the fuel line right by the carb, too, which probably didn't help.



My eventual plan is to relocate the pressure gauge to the sight glass hole so I left the hose on it long, but I was past the point of pulling the tank today, so it also got the redneck zip-tie treatment.

mounted a new tire on my spare v90 rim, went to mount it and at least one of the bolts that hold the wheel on to the hub is/are fouling against the inside disc brake rotor..

I put the old wheel back on and no issue.. upon closer examination, it looks like the rims (the old 4 lug type) are not the same.. the one on the bike now that doesn't foul has taller "mounds" (for lack of a better term) where the 4 lugs screw in..

The new rim is shallower there allowing the bolts to go deeper in through the wheel.. I either need to cut the bolts down a bit, or get shorter ones. arghghg

I'm not sure if the one on the bike is a repro or if the 2nd one is, but they're slightly different in the height of those bulged out sections around the bolt holes.. hmmmm (scratches head and thinks about cutting the bolts eversobarely shorter)

This is the area that differs... And this one being shallowe than the other is problematic

I had a set of spare wheel bolts. I cut 1 thread off each and it's all done.

100/80-10 front instead of 3.5X10

I rolled up late to a VIN inspection on my last two untitled projects. CHP officer was pissed and found everything wrong with the lammy. Fuck me! Went back and forth with him for an hour and then saw an old high school teacher whose retired and volunteers there. 10 minutes later I was out the door with plates!

Man that burgundy color is the best. Nice one getting them sorted out legally.

But, what's a VIN inspection?

Long story short, here in CA if your seller never had title, the CHP needs to run the VIN through a database and sign off that the scoot isn't stolen before the DMV will issue a new pink and registration.

Its to check that the stamped chassis numbers are all present and correct with the paper work of the relevant scooter.

In the Uk they are called VOSA inspections and are more or less the norm now, due to all the asian imports, unfortunately we have to have a MPH speedometer, which can be a bit difficult on some models, but apparently an adhesive clear sticker in mph is ok. Its not to be confused with a MOT, as a MOT is all about the scooter working properly. You don't need to turn the key on a VOSA inspection.

I didn't do shit. My old electronics teacher got it done. Officer wanted to drill and mount a metal plate to the frame with some special serial number since he wouldn't accept the frame number stamped over the engine. I told him there's no way in hell I'd allow it which probably made him angrier than he already was with me being late

Went to my mates workshop after he sourced me a new hub. I was delighted. Won't get to fit it until the weekend though. Also got a taffspeed!!!

Sounds easier than Vermont. I wonder if you have to be a legal resident & if the bike has to be there? What is the typical cost for your hypothetical $500 bike?

With a weak but effective magnet, it works good for lighting up the engine bay when attached to the inside of the leg shield, or near the motor where you can find a spot. However, being placed near the motor means it shines in your eyes a bit as there isn't much space. It also has a couple of flash and brightness settings that, if pointed outward, work as a makeshift flare. I like it, YMMV.

took the small frame out for a ride w/ Jimmy.. love it. smaller front tire feels so good.. plug is a hair dark but that's ok, as I wasn't revving the complete beans out of it. I like it where it is for now.

... if only my seat were softer.. OR I had SOME ass. ... just a little and I'd be fine. I'm thinking of getting some of those booty inserts.

Is this the Streamline seat?

3.5X10 down to 100/80-10 in front of small frame.

... no I'm not talking about the Streamline.. I've put a Corsa MKII (I think) on as a daily seat.. I don't wanna f up my streamline.. but even the new seat isn't all that comfy.. none of the "race" seats I have are anything like a stock seat in terms of comfort.. the closest is the SC Ancillotti I have on the Super. I find that very comfortable and the riding position is PERFECT (it's the benchmark I judge all other seats by)...

I have another brand new one of those Scooter Center Ancillotti seats for Sprint/Rally/Super etc. if anyone wants to buy it.. I'd use the money to buy the small frame version.

Though it is possible to get them registered as a moped for $15, because usually the folks at the town office don't know any better.

All of mine are registered as antique motorcyle. Those cost $15, and you don't need to have a state inspection sticker.
