Swapped out the Sito Plus for a SIP Road 2.0 tonight. It was a great thirty minute job that turned into an hour and a half by the time I realized I had bunged up the threads on the long bolt. A quick trip to the hardware store and three dollars later and all is well.
She pulls really hard in all four gears now. I haven't checked the top end yet, but it felt like I had plenty left at nearly 60 mph. Oh, and after the last two pics my wife loves me very much. And our garage. |

T5bitza69 wrote: yesterday before I left work I wired in me new indicators ...... from man nipples to lady nipples ....... Shit! I went on a long-ish ride w/ Jimmy today and I knew something felt weird on the way home.. I just went to move my bike to clean it off and the rear tire is nearly FLAT. I had just checked the pressure before we left this morning. I need to investigate and fix this. ... haven't had a flat in a zillion years. My rear tire is about bald anyway, so I'll replace it and get to the bottom of why it's flat. I don't see any nails or anything. hmmm glad I made it home. |

Today I....went to the hardware to buy some cable cutters, picked up some milk for extra points on the home front. Into the glovebox of the PX. It fits a 3 Litre carton easy. Done it a million times before. Cruising home at 80kmh. Nice day, not at work, all is good. Look down at the floorboards. They're white! The milk carton has exploded in the glovebox and has leaked through onto the boards! Great contrast with the red paintwork. Anyway after a bit of clean up later, I'm reflecting, thank God it wasn't a six pack or bottle of vino

Day -2 for the start of the Mille down here. Sorting out Maps, tools, spare bits and bobs, enough 2T oil etc etc. Tomorrow we head down to the island and go through those final checks of bolts etc to make sure nothing falls off somewhere in the alps. Wish the weather would improve, could be a long wet ride on Day 2. Have all the wet weather gear I could wish for ready. Old rusty rack seems a nice fit and addition on the front of the Rally.
Be a good ride I trust. Nice to have PTPX to ride with, and ginchi and Subetherbass will be somewhere behind us zipping past as many of the earlier starters as they can. We'll probably be breathing their exhaust sometime before the end! 1,000+ km of nice riding is planned. ![]() |

Would hate to break something significant and then miss riding over the next few days as well. It;s been ridden as much as I could over the past few weeks and seems to be holding up well. Getting excited now! 8) |

Mille Shakedown
Speedy got its first real Shakedown test for the Mille... & clutch ring fell off... Worst bit, it was the furtherest point from home, & at 02:30am (a great time to ride in metro areas).

Some more tweaking on my 2 bikes.
P200 - has had erratic high RPM lean-outs. I've been playing with jetting but it's inconsistent up there. So I decided to have a look at my old nemesis, the self-loosening carb bolts on the SI carb. They were last left at 12 ft-lb with loctite. Checked and - 3 ft-lb. ^%^&*^%. I don't understand how they self loosen. Time for new studs and hardware. Primavera - after a recent change on the main jet from 95 to 92, seemed like a bit of power was lost, so I put it back. I also wanted some margin as I decided to try the leaner slide to fix my low throttle burbles. The last time I tried this was with the leaner needle bushing, this time I will try it solo. It was way too lean with the needle bushing before. This might work.... |
