It's that time of the year again.... Anyone doing pride this year? A large contingent of VCOS is participating this year.

Mr. F wrote: Look at that. Even the sun "came out" in Seattle for your Pride Day. Mr. F ![]() ![]() The sun occasionally shines up here. The rule is that it usually rains off and on, with a high probability of rain on July 4th. Then on the 5th through September it's usually clear and sunny. The first pic is of our parade during a past year while the others are from New Orleans and Santa Fe. Usually there are 20-40 scooters in the parade, but the numbers have been increasing. Nothing compared to the Dykes on Bikes though! |

Gosh I used to be a pride parade whore! Key West, P-town, Hawaii cruise, pretty much one capital after another. Not anymore... Getting old. Will celebrate locally or maybe a trip to Oklahoma City. I find that besides the parade there is little of interest for me anymore. Still I plan to volunteer instead of being all decadent for the duration of the festival.

For a town with a decent scooter presence there are remarkably few scoots in the Pride parade. I think i saw three last year.

I would love to see more participation from the scooter community. My daughter was heavily involved in the GSA (http://www.gsanetwork.org/) over the last few years, so if schedule permits I am hoping to ride with my daughter in support that organization specifically. It helps that as part of their fundraising they sell buttons and stickers by the hundred...

The SF Scooter Girls have been riding as a club group with the Dykes on Bikes for at least 8 years now.
We always pick a fun theme to dress up to. This year as it's our 10 year club anniversary, the Dykes on Bikes have awarded us the #1 spot in the parade! (well, the Dykes always always lead off the parade, we'll be the first club group after them) Hope bay area lady scooterists will come out and join us!! It's one of my favourite events/rides of the year, cause that's how I first met my club!

Just got back from riding with the Hells Fairies and Dykes on Bikes at the front of Seattle Pride 2014!!!
It was my first pride ride and it was an awesome experience. The roar of the bikes at the startup was deafening (we had to be satisfied with bleeting our scooter horns). George Takei was there as the Grand Marshal. The scooter turnout was decent - about 20-25 scooters took part. Dwarfed by the bikes, but still a solid presence. Everything from modern to oil burners. A few pics of the event including some real scooter girls ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
