Having to use ear plugs at speeds over 30 km/h due to the noisy mid-size Isotta windshield wasn't fun. I ordered and this week installed a laminar lip.
Works fantastic. Don't need ear plugs until about 70 to 80 km/h. The windshield itself was up to my mouth level. The lip goes to my nose level. One day I'll raise it sightly higher for even quieter ride at higher speeds. Pics attached. The lip company advised me to buy the model for BMW 850/1150GS, as they don't have a model under the Vespa link.

Recently put a Laminar Lip on my 09 BV 250 (the lip listed for the BV 350 fit perfectly). The BV has a medium stock shield that directed the air right to my face shield and helmet crown. The lip shoots the turbulent air just over my head and cuts the noise significantly. I can lift my face shield and not get blasted in the eyes. It is not perfectly quiet by any means and if I lifted the Lip a bit higher it would be quieter still, but then I would be looking through it all the time. It is a compromise, and I still wear ear protection ( I have a noisy Nolan helmet) but it is a big improvement over the stock shield.

I used a Laminar lip on one of my X9's Bloody magic, highly recommended for those situations that call for such a solution.

Yup, I had one on my BV 500 and it helped a lot.

I use one on the BMW, and move it to the Honda as well.

It is like having 12 inches more of windshield.
