So when do we get the details on the crash? On the breakdowns? On everything? C'mon y'all. I know you are in the middle of a race but we demand details. Inquiring minds want to know. NOW!
Don't ya think Lostboater should give his cars details himself?

He chose to ride in a support truck today and lent Bagel Big Red for today at least. I expect Ken will be back on Big Red in a day or two. DaBinChe has had two offs but is still riding like a mad man. As of this morning all the two strokes are running well. Only three scoots have been on trucks ad one of them was back on yah road the next day. You've already heard of some of the other issues that have come up. Tonightis half way and fatigue is setting in for some folks.
Of course. Mainly concerned that he is OK. Sounds like he is. Thanks for the update.

I love it how cool, relaxed, and composed everyone looks. As if the whole thing has been a breeze so far. 8)

VRM has offered to meet up in Ulysses KS for parts and stuff.

That is fantastic. If you need anything give me a buzz at

There is some significant to the video but not my news to share.

The day started great and I felt confident I could move back into the top 10 using a better fuel strategy. First amazing sighting was a mountain goat in the middle of the road in the Crowsnest. He stared at me and I stared at him and then a big truck came and he left by going straight up a rock cliff. Amazing. The weather remained cold until early afternoon. I hit the three checkpoint easily and was on the down hill run to town. Then I took a big delay. In the corner labeled in Dave/Feb31st video as "kens corner, almost Daves corner" a "grizzly bear" ran out in front me and Big Red and we went ass over tea kettle in the gravel on the side of the road. That is my story and I am sticking to it! Big Red and I had ding and bings. He got the worst of it, but stood tall and took me on into town.

But that is not the story here. The story is the camaraderie that you experience in the Scooter Cannonball. Mark had stopped to check on me and headed on into town. When I rolled into the parking lot he, Matt and later Old as Dirt took over the care of Big Red. Teacherquinn handed me a 800 mg ibuprofen and they all said go get cleaned up and rest and we will take care of everything. In short order they had all the broken parts off, the steering realigned and torqued had tested rode Big Red and made minor tweaks and had it ready to on the road again.

Also, nothing has been posted on the Cannonball thread of my rookie mistake and shows that integrity of the group. (well almost no posts)

Bagel is riding Big Red today and tomorrow and they he and I will share the riding as there is nothing to been won now but the fun of the ride. My spot tracker was on Old as Dirt, but Big Reds fans have asked that it be moved back on him tomorrow.

That encapsulates the whole experience in one sentence. Winning, losing, first, last...that's all secondary to the time you spend with your co-riders.

Rest well, Ken. Next time use the bear for padding when you go off the road.

I can't describe the experience of riding with all of these wonderful people.

Every night the group gets closer. Tonight started with three of us at Wind River. It ended with those in the photo with a few more coming in and leaving before it was taken.

The missing parties are the vintage guys wrenching in the hotel parking lot, but one day we will get everyone out. Or order pizza and gather with them.

This is among the coolest experiences of my life. It is simply amazing.

Weather forecast for Norman Oklahoma.
Looks like you guys may get a break, Tuesday calls for partly cloudy, 80 high, Wensday 89 Partly cloudy. It had been stormy for a couple of days and is forecast to remain the same through Monday, with a two day break and then back to the same. Lets hope the forecast stays the same. Looking forward to meeting some of you Tuesday in Norman, My home town. I will be the guy walking around with a support boot on my left foot from a spill 4 weeks ago. One more week and I get to get rid of it. And go back to riding. For you who want to know you will be within a block to a mile from all sorts of places to eat. Most of the restaurants are on the west side of I-35 on the service road. Just west of Motel 8. George.

Heck yes. Glad you are good, Ken.

Bikes can be replaced. People cannot.

There's certainly no shame in having a set back in Cannonball. Some of the best riders I know have had one on a run. It's all good as long as you are.
