Thank you. The traffic on 70 and 80 are one of the reasons I went this way. Last year on my cross country drive, the zones were I swear from Ohio all the way to home. Speed limit drops to 50 with cops everywhere. It was so frustrating.

Taking some time to sew patches on my jacket and place newly arrived stickers on the scoot.

Got two MV patches sitting on the nightstand right now.

I don't really know how to sew...the new wife does that for me (she learned needle point from her mom, which is a strong sense of pride since she's no longer with us).

Gonna have her sew those on to my light summer jacket.

I saw your Tat's from the other pics too....those are more impressive. You can always take off Patches but not tattoo's. I have Chicago Flag stars tattooed to my right arm and a Mexican Loteria Card on my left. They hide pretty well since I work in a slightly conservative workplace. Not many engineers here have full sleeve tattoo's.

I like them patches though.

I wanted to get unique tattoos. I wear the jacket so I don't loose them if I ever go down (knock on wood).

Longest for me has been up to Amerivespa in Lake Geneva Wisconsin from Chicago. I wouldn't attempt 1000 miles on my LX.

I just bought a new car with a trailer, that's probably the only way i'd be taking the LX anywhere near that mileage.

The Ironbutt is on for Saturday. Slight chance of thunderstorms at my turn around spot but hopefully I will be heading out of that area before they build. Theoretically I should be out of the area by 1pm.

Thank you Trepp. I will be thinking about all of you on this trip. I promise to be as safe as I can and to listen to my body. I feel as prepared as I can be. I have been knocking back my waking time every day so a 4am departure won't be so difficult as the last time I prepared to depart. Keeping fingers crossed.

You will make it. Just ride consistently as fast as you are comfortable (70+ works well).

Limit stop numbers and time while stopped, but make sure you remain alert and capable of the ride.

I actually enjoyed it and will gladly do it again, maybe this summer.

Might try it on a one day ride to Chicago to visit my son, Sam.
