I do not have. GPS but I will keep the first 1/2 stops on the shorter side. Gas, attend personal needs (food, water, restroom, walk), check in. Then back off.

I'll be praying for you and also wishing I was riding my scooter instead of working on a ridiculously long dance recital.

Have a great adventure. Pace yourself, make sure you take some breaks/sustenance and just ride safely.

10 minute breaks when you fuel.

At least one 30 minute stop for hot food.

Drink plenty of liquid.

Don't push yourself beyond your limits.

Thank you. I picked this route to get away from urban areas at key hours, lower amount of construction, not out in the rural wooded areas at night to avoid deer, in and out of DC area and back in after traffic. The mountainous area should be a gorgeous ride during the day too.

I am shortly. Doing last minute check. Wrote my gas stop to do list on my hand. Lol. I have all I need set up for my early wakeup

And, actually, I think you're a great mom and a hoot! Looove that baby picture.

Ride safely and timely.

There will come a point during the ride when you'll have doubts as to what you're trying to achieve.
It's usually happens just before the furthest point where time seems to slow right down.
When this happens stop for a break, eat and drink something ( hot if possible) and walk around for a bit to get the blood back into your arse then remount.
Remind yourself that this can only last one day then get on with it.
Once you've got past the 500 mark it's just a case or riding home but lets face it - you have to go that way anyway so start to count off the miles.
Tell yourself that you're 70,80,90 % done and the rest should come easy.
Myself, Scutrbrau and Trepp have all lost a bit of faith during the ride but stick with it, just don't push yourself beyond your limits.

I just got home after a ride today.
Bloody cold (10*C is COLD for this summer bloke) and windy. It makes it difficult to concentrate and pay attention properly (so please focus grasshopper........).
My bum is on fire after sitting on my X8 for 860km in a stint.
Hopefully your bum has more padding than mine.

Oh, uhmmm, unless it isn't, or shouldn't be, or really it's quite petite........aw crap!
