213 / 224cc for 150 case by BSG

It's not the 300, but it's on the market!!

It's available in case induction and cylinder induction via reed. Only EUR850 and EUR950...

A very interesting point is that the rod is 118mm, 15mm longer than the original.

I just edited the post, for some reason the headings are not showing up for me.

The amazing thing here is they've made a 213/224 with 69mm bore to fit the 150 case! Raises heaps of questions - which they don't answer - but it's pretty cool nonetheless.

Also not the 300 BSG, but this is of some interest. It's a 66mm bore Parmakit for 150 cases... which makes with a stock crank 195cc! And 205 with a long stroke!

And... it's here! They are actually taking orders!

http://www.jbtuning.co.uk/BSGVespa.html

They are not giving out a price because "All engines are built to order by BSG in Italy once a deposit has been received and the final price will depend on the specification required. "
Seeing as there are no options to choose from on the largeframe motor (209 smallie motor also released at the same time) then they should just put up a price and be done.

BSG Vespa Engines Now Available in the UK Exclusively from JB Tuning

After a further year of development and testing, BSG are beginning production of both the PX-type larger frame and also their small-frame 209cc engines (which produce over 40hp!) and they are now available EXCLUSIVELY in the UK from JB Tuning, the country's ONLY official Casa Lambretta UK Performance Centre.

The complete large-frame engine includes 36mm Dellorto carb, 4-speed gearbox, BSG clutch and uprated primary drive, while the 209cc engine includes 39mm Dellorto carb, special 4-speed racing gearbox (with 5-speed option), Newfren clutch with 27/69 ratio.
Copyright © 2015 JB Tuning
Back in October 2014 Scootering Magazine and Rimini Lambretta Centre brought a Vespa PX to us, powered by a new prototype engine from Italian tuning-house BSG.

With a brand new CNC machined engine casing of their design and a 305cc top-end it produced an incredible 51hp on our dyno.

All engines are built to order by BSG in Italy once a deposit has been received and the final price will depend on the specification required.

As of November 2015, the lead time is expected to be 8 to 10 weeks, but this may change depending on demand. For more details give us a call on 01702 545952 or send an email.

I don't know what's more intimidating the cost of the engine or all the frame bracing that follows.

The smallie carb is megladon.

Hmm PX300 or CBR1000RR? Same price. Oh wait.. with the Honda you get a whole motorcycle. But for that money, the Vespa can probably match it's 9.98 1/4 mile or 173mph top speed.

I would rather have the px306 over the cbr anyday, much more fun,if you can keep the front wheel down not many places you can do 173mph anyhow

Pricing is pretty much like a Targa Twin for Lambretta and I assume the Lambretta BSG 305 will be in that range. Probably more.

I asked some questions to satisfy my curiosity...

Quote:
Does it come with an ignition system & if so what is it? And in particular, is the fan up to the job of cooling it?

Does it come with a cylinder cowl, & if so is it a standard type or made specially?

I'm assuming it doesn't come with an exhaust. All the pictures I've seen show an expansion chamber - how integral to the motor is that exhaust and is it particular to the motor? Can a box type be used without a downside (other than a likely decrease in power)?

What primary drive gear ratio is supplied with it?

The reply:
Quote:
Hi, Michael
Thats our pleasure, it comes with a Parma variable ignition and yes fan up to the job, comes with cowl specific for it and a expansion exhaust to suit as for primarys i think they are standard px primary or to spec as for box exhaust no i wouldnt have thought so
The cowl question was me wondering how much physically larger the cylinder is.
I wonder if the Parmakit fan truly is up to the job? That motor at full tilt is probably producing five times the heat of a stock motor... assuming the heat produced is linear with the horsepower.

Woaw!!
That thing sounded like the angriest chainsaw i've ever heard.

I wonder how that compares to Scomadi engines.

That thing is wicked. I got a little tent in my jeans after listening to that thing.

What scomadi engines are you talking about? If you are talking about the production Scomadi those are crap wet fart Taiwanese sourced auto 4 strokes.
If you are talking about the one off 172 scomadi that uses a auto Piaggio motor with Malossi 172 kit. Still completely different things.

Can an Italian reader here please translate what they are saying? I think maybe it's a less expensive version? Cast instead of CNC?

yes - the billet aluminum they are using is expensive and looking to a cast version. There are all sorts of new cast Lambretta being release including a Casa Lambretta item that will accept the BSG 305 Bullet top end.

I think I saw that about the sand cast case for Lambretta on SLUK. Looks like a very good thing and not crazy money either.

that was only one sandcastle case which was the Granturismo. Sand cast we have - Misano Supercase, Casa Lambretta, AF and the New Uni Repros.

Complete motor. They seem to do it for Lambrettas. I saw a CR500 in something a few times. Thinking there must be a 300 +cc motor out of a twistie or dirt bike motor that would fit
