I recently installed the 12V power plug that goes in the knee pad of my GTS. I tried to use it today to power my Airman mini air compressor and it immediately blew a fuse. I don't know the specs of the air compressor, but it comes with a 10A fuse (not blown) and the fuse it blew on the GTS was 7.5 amps. Is the air compressor too powerful for the 12V power plug in my GTS?

The optional 12 volt outlet that plugs into the alarm connector is only rated for about 5 amps. Your compressor overloaded it.

Thanks for the quick response. I guess I'll just hook it up to the battery instead. Off to the store to get some spare fuses!

If you want the outlet to be properly useful, connect it directly to the battery via its 10A fuse.

That sounds complicated. I might get to it if I can find a video or some sort of guide that walks me through the process. Thanks for your help!

The hardest part is taking off the leg shield cover. Here's how I'd did my Dual 12 Volt Outlet Install GTV 300.

Should give you a bit of an idea.
