Modern Vespa

hello guys, I am the new owner of vespa Gts 300, I only had it for a few days, when I tried to change the odo reading from MPH to KM.
so I was holding the mode button, and trying but I wasn t doing it right.
.
after a few attempts I finally succeeded but now my total reading now shows 0000, and I had at least 110 miles on it, because the trip 1 now shows 180 km, and my total shows 0000, pretty strange ... I guess I did something I wasn t suppose to do while trying to get it to show kilometers.

did it ever happen to anyone?

Strange. Sure you're not looking at trip 2?

positive it is the TOTAL !

Maybe anything under a certain mileage is treated as zero when switching. Reset the trip and don't worry about it.

I just tried it on mine. No problem here.

1) turn key *off*

2) press the *mode* button and hold in

3) turn key to *on* position and wait minimum 2 seconds

4) release the *mode* button

Do the same thing to toggle between MPH and KM

now I can toggle between MPH and Km, because I know I have to release after 2 seconds, but when I was first trying I am not sure what I did to get to show 0, I did rest both trips, now I have a brand new scooter everything is showing 0

As I said before, that's really strange. I've only got 58 miles on mine. Toggled to KM and back to Miles no problem. Wish I knew what you did to reset everything.

Didn't you know that the GTS300 comes equipped with a self-zeroing instrument panel? They do that so that it stays new forever.

Seriously though, I've never know anyone being able to reset the total odometer without special equipment. Even disconnecting the battery doesn't reset the total. That's strange.

Exact same thing happened to me today. I don't know if the KPH - MPH changed, but the total is reading 0 and the trip is still at 200kms. So strange.

I can solve your riddle. The scooter can be reset to zero one time as a service technician test ride reset.

Technology also exists on Apriia. Those of you that can't reset it is because it already was.

I work with someone who is originally from your country who shares your name. I understand it is a common one there, though.

So, if this was never reset on a scooter with this feature and you have a scooter with 25,000 miles on it, the odometer may be able to be reset? OR is there a mileage at which this feature is disabled?

And I am too honest to do that. I quite my job as a car salesman because I thought I was ripping people off with the prices the dealer sold cars for.

I believe there is a default mileage. Off to surgery this morning, will ask tech center tomorrow.
