Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated on this subject. Couldn't find anything in search results. All other lights around the cluster work fine. I need to buy a shop manual for it but just got the scooter. Just can't stand that not working. Thanks in advance for any advice.

I'd be surprised if it did work. PTW fuel gauges are notoriously inaccurate and prone to breaking. The shop manual is your best source to get a good method for pinning down the problem. It will tell you the expected voltages Crome the sensor in the tank at various fuel levels and help you determine if the problem is the tank sensor or the gauge.

If the bikes been sitting a while, the float might be stuck. You can put in about half a tank, and pick up the back of the bike about a foot and drop it a couple of times. This fixes the problem about half the time by freeing the float. If that doesn't work, find where the sending unit out of the tank plugs into the harness, disconnect it, and jump the connection to the harness. If the needle on the gauge moves, it's in the sending unit, if not, it's either in the gauge or the harness.

Sending unit is just below the fuel filler cap. You need to remove the entire trim panel that has the fuel door on it. Also you need to be careful with the gasket on the sender. Mine leaked and there was no replacement available for it. We had to flood the top with gas tank repair epoxy. If the WIKI does not have the BV200 service manual Vespa Motorsport does sell it.
