MPH speedo dial overlay listed on Ebay, item 201280752936 , give it a look to see if it is any good. Model / colour variations may be available.

The scale has also been adjusted to take account of the indicated / actual error, using 2 different Sat navs. Cannot guarantee the amount of error will be the same on your bike but seems to be a common niggle.

Is it matched to the *actual* speeds, or just a copy of the original layout? It does look quite close to actual.

Looking at the angle between the vertical line and the 110 MPH indicator, it looks like a smaller angle on the overlay, but a fair margin. It's been adjusted somewhat!

Not bad for $18.76 USD grand total.
However if you DIY be prepared for a PITA project.
If so this is the best time to change the color of your instrument lights.

Yeah, looks good, but a PIA in making the change. Why didn't Piaggio do this before the MP3s were brought over here to sell?

Really nice, but I can for sure feel the pain to pull it all apart to install. Also the care to remove the needle indicator and push back on. Would be nice if anyone can add to the experience of doing this project mod.

These were sold on e-bay awhile back for $8. It is a thin-film, self adhesive disc of plastic sheet. Sized to overlay the mp3 speedo dial. Very readable with a quick glance. Sorry to not be more specific, memory fades.

It is rotated so that the needle reads an actual 50 mph (via gps), other speeds may be close to actual. Accuracy is hard to get on any speedo.

Overlays have been covered at length right here on this forum in the past. Different colors, number arrangements etc.

Make it 2 for $10.00 and i'll cut then up so it would read correctly.

Just received mine after ordering after reading this thread. I remember the original thread. FYI, he sent two for the price stated.

Overlay easy enough to fit and lines up great, don't need to remove the speedo needle as it has a slot to allow it to slide past.
Also available for MP3.

I don't see the benefit in this and that slit in the overlay is pretty obvious (ugly).

The factory dial already has provisions for both km/h and mph.

Besides, the world uses km/h anyway.

The miles per hour scale is low contrast, unreadable in most light conditions
Speed limit signs in the US are in miles per hour, math while riding is an unnecessary distraction, akin to texting....

Yep I agree. You just can not read the light red numbers and they are sized a lot smaller

Don't bother with the full size printed one, as you have to remove the speedo/dash assembly ,the print fades and the back light is shaded so that at night you can hardly see the speed.I had to remove mine then just marked the dial with red paint at 30/50/70 mph. However the speedo is very poor on the fuoco .

You do have to wonder why piaggio print mph on the speedos then ! and strange that the major motorcycle manufactures seem to have mph on there speedos in large numerals.

Japanese manufacturers (for the most part) in my experience, ship their machines with correct speedos for the country, they are being sold in. I have owned a Suzuki cruiser (VS1400) made for the Canadian market (kmh) and currently own a 1400 made for the US market (mph)
