Hello everyone

My name is Zet and I live in the Netherlands. I recently bought a Piaggio MP3 400 LT. I also bought a GPS - Tom Tom Rider 400.

I saw two holes on the top of my dash (Instrument panel) , where I assume a GPS was mounted before. (between the instrument panel and windscreen).

I am looking to mount my GPS on top my Instrument panel (with my Instrument panel still visible )

The second option is to mount my GPS on the middle / center my handlebar.

Do you know what bracket / mount I can use and / where I can buy this ? What is it called ?
option 1 on top of Instrument panel...

Or the second option...in the middle of the handle bar...

Something like this may work too. The holes in the top part of the clamp might line up with the holes that are already there.

I use the RAM "Large Suction Cup", with the small adapter to the Garmin Nuvi / Zumo that looks similar to your picture, but its being hold by the Windshield, and it works well. I don't like Drilling holes in my bikes.

TomTom Bracket
Piaggio has three different mounting kits for navigators. Although they probably don't know it.
The first one below, used to be advertised as Fixing Kit for TomTom Rider One but Piaggio is known as not having a clue about they accesories they make, when they announced the fixing kit for the Rider one, the navigator had been discontinued for years. I called them and the lady who answered the phone knew less than I did. They just read you the web site while they have you on the phone just in case you haven't heard about this thing called "The Net", which in their case is full of mistakes. Anyway, the thing is that this one below works for TomTom Rider One, Two, Urban Rider and Rider Pro, that's to say those with four pins on the docking base or no pins at all -the new ones have seven- See the last two pics.

The reason why it works with all four is because the satnav doesn't attach directly to the Piaggio bracket, you need a docking/charging base which comes with the Rider, the base has five holes that match those on the bracket.

As fas as I know the Urban rider (also known as III) and Rider Pro come with a non-charging base so if you own any of these the Piaggio part is not worth buying because other than the plastic top and the metal bracket which probably cost $0.50, the only interesting thing is the cable which allows you to charge the thing while it's on the bike but if your base doesn't charge what's the point?

One thing to consider is whether your bike has the remote opening buttons on the handlebar in which case you'll need the one below, still only worth it if you have a charging base, otherwise I suggest you to make a metal bracket like the one in the pic which will probably cost 2EUR and and get that plastic top from Piaggio or search on ebay, there's plenty of them and it's a part that hardly ever gets damaged.

These photos give you an idea of how to install and what it looks like before attaching the actual TomTom base or the cable.

I got this one (above) because my bike doesn't have the buttons on the lid but as you can see apart from that the kit is the same. Piaggio doesn't have a picture of the non-buttons one. I do and here's for you to enjoy.

And the third one is the one for the new MP3 which. I know nothing about because I don't have one. Yet.

I believe it to be the same one used on the X10s and it probably consists on a handlebar top and a cable, as usual.

One thing worth mention is that if you use either of the first two (653657 or 657506) you will have to install spacers between the bracket and the charging base the reason being that in order to release the Tomtom you have to push down on the base (which is spring loaded) but the thing is so poorly designed that there's virtually no space to push in so although you may be able to dock the Rider to the base, you won't get it out. Yes, someone at Piaggio is that clever.

Charging (Rider II) and non-charging bases (Urbans) they are interchangeable only that one doesn't charge and if you want a charging one you'll have to but it separately.

Can't figure them out. Lets design a bracket for a GPS and make for smallest GPS company on the planet, instead of for Garmin
Is TOM TOM an Italian company or something?
