So check out this moron who started a petition to "Ban all motorcycles in Hawaii". (scooters too) What a moron and the hate that spills from this petition is dangerous to all who ride here. If you go to change.org and type in Ban all Motorcycles from Hawaii and just read it. Guaranteed to make your BP go up. I'm not so good with cut and paste so if somebody wants to do a link i'll give you a big thumbs up. I wonder if those idiots realize that their DR,Lawyer etc ride. 2 wheeled riders, to them are "Lazy and Stupid" Also calling for a lawsuit against Harley Davidson. Idiots can't notice the difference from GANGS vs CLUBS. So whose stupid? Oh and the idiot who gave the reasons why you shouldn't hire a PTW rider better not own a business because people here will be all over his ass.

What a useless petition. How about proposing a noise ordinance or a requirement to install a noise reduction muffler. Is the petition author also proposing the riddance of semi trucks, cars with bad mufflers and other loud vehicles? What about airplanes?

The owner of the hotel were they just had the MP3 gathering complained to the local police about all the speeding and noisy trucks coming by his place. They said it was all the motorcycle people that he has at his hotel and it was his own fault. He does mainly cater to two wheel people.

He talked two highway patrolmen to work the road over the 4th. Mike said the results were exactly like he told them it would be. Over 100 tickets written and 90% were locals. 75 arrests for various things mostly outstanding warrants or tickets. He is not one of the locals favorites now, but the speeders are gone.

Having not been to Hawaii, my experience is limited to having watched Hawaii 5-0.

After reading some of the comments, my first impression is that the state is a virtual hell-hole, overtaken by bikers and mopeds.

After a bit of reflection, I decided the second possibility is that it's a nirvana for curmudgeons.

Have to say, the comments are enlightening. Some of my faves:

"I'm signing because I live in a free country!"
Followed shortly by:
"Ban motorcycles and ban freedom, both are stupid."

MS of course. Seriously if one used Meth and rode, you wouldn't be around very long. Maybe we should ban fire trucks and helicopters. I love how they say we waste gas. So a truck that gets 20mpg doesn't? The people call us ignorant but they should live in Honolulu if you want sleep. Also i really want to find out what business the idiot who stated the reasons why he doesn't hire people who ride. Would be nice to get him dinged for discrimination. TEA yeah those people are jealous that we have fun and can park free. People already try and kill us and this isn't making our lives out there any safer. Only in Hawaii. Also since when is Hawaii a country.

Yeah, Judy. After reading most of the comments on the petition (couldn't stand reading further), these are the type of creeps that'll tip your scoot in a parking lot then slink away with a smile. How sad.

I'm sure that business owner, if he really is one, doesn't have the guts to stand up and identify himself.

When I see articles such as this I am always amazed at the comments that follow. It often tells a lot about the article. So many of those commenting on this article and agreeing with it, based on the grammar that they use in their posts, are at least borderline illiterate, or perhaps just morons. I can't imagine that anything like this can be passed. It is scary the idiocy in our country though.


To totally change the subject a movie about the Beach Boys is due to be released in the near future. Always loved the Beach Boys music, hope the movie does it justice.

The weather in the midwest is finally getting to be riding weather, can't wait.

It's a fascinating piece about the pro-(Russian)-government professional trolling going on right now. I read it yesterday, and today I am questioning at least a little bit of what I thought I knew about people on the internet.

(But seriously-- that's the dumbest petition ever. That's why I got off of Change.org's mailing list, and a few others. Because while I support many of the causes *some* petitioners eloquently speak to, it's become so watered-down with nonsense that it was no longer worthy of my limited attention).

Just one more reason to stay alert when riding.
