I really need another advice from You, gentlemen.

I want to take springs from by bitubo's (from my ET4) to powder coating painting service (springs are really rusty).
I wasn't able to disassemble rear shock absorber.
Also, maybe I also need somthing to know about front one? Didn't try to disassemble it yet.

Thank You very much!

P.S. I'm sorry for low quality photo

I'm not sure they are designed to be disassembled. But if they are, you'll need a spring compressor to do so safely.

They both come apart quite easily.

With the rear ones, wind the spring adjuster right down and, that releases the compression on the spring. Then put a large screw driver in the slot at the top and undo the nut.

The front one you have already has the adjuster wound right down so all you need to do is hold the top mounting bracket in a vice and undo the nut.

Well, that's definitely an ingenious trick

I'd make sure that I used some REALLY bad-ass zip ties. Compressed springs pack a real punch and can do some serious damage if their energy is released unexpectedly. But we are talking shocks from a scooter. So your probably fine with the zip tie method.

About 35 years ago, I had a really bad experience with a coil spring from a car that wasn't secured properly when the lower A-arm was separated from the spindle. Picture the old "Batman" TV series from the 1960s...

Since springs are designed to flex, I'm not sure how successful powder coating will be.
Maybe I just dont understand the process.

I was thinking the same thing. You need a flexible paint like what they use on the urethane bumpers of cars. Designed to flex. Maybe power coat is flexible but I thought its advantage was it was really durable because it was hard.
