Hi. I'm just new to this site and wondered whether someone can help me out. I have a 1983 vespa pk 125 s automatica. Can anyone tell me what size piston rings I need for this scooter? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks. [/img]

Welcome to the forum Dave. That's a rare and unusual scoot you have there ... a two-stroke twistie... not quite vintage, not quite modern, not quite smallie, not quite largeframe... I like it.
I believe the bore is 55 mm. |

You have a lovely scoot! Where do you live in uk?
I'm in Scotland. Yes, I still have Dave although he is off the road. A mechanic, from a well known garage, had him for a service and when he came back there were all kinds of problems. And because this guy couldn't get the side panel off, to check the engine, he used a screwdriver.......he bent it out of shape, cracked my paintwork, and my scoot hasnt run well since.I went mental with him🤬🤬🤬 I've had loads of folk look at it.....new wiring loom....new pistons directly from piaggio (cost a fortune).......nobody has been able to sort it. I've had guys who have sorted vespa's for years, but no-one been able to restore Dave.......gutted!! Would love to get him running again🤞 |

Well hopefully somebody on here and can help you out. There is also the small frame forum https://vespasmallframeforum.proboards.com/ to seek further advice. Hope you get it going as its frustrating. Its relatively easy to get advice on this forum however, finding somebody to perform the work for you isnt always easy but you never know, somebody on here might live nearby or know somebody who does or a man who can and voila.

Had a friend in Spain that had an automatic vespa, in Spain was called vespa Plurimatic and they shined on roll acceleration. I have seen a few in Spain when I lived there in the 80's and 90's.
