Hi, before I get into this, I just want to say, I'm very new to Vespas but I'm very determined to learn more about them!
Another note is I've searched for this specific subject but haven't come across any threads about this... If there has been a thread about this previously, I'm very sorry!

I'm in the process of purchasing a 2015 Vespa GTS300 (shiny black) and of course, I want to get a top box/case along with it.
I fell in love with this particular one http://www.scooterwest.com/item_details/GTS-Original-Vespa-Top-Case---Shiny-Black/9989
I love everything about it but the backrest doesn't match my seat (black with with white piping) but I saw that I can purchase this http://www.scooterwest.com/item_details/Backrest-Pad-for-SUPER-Topcase---Black/5468
So obviously this means I can replace the backrest but how?
I've searched this forum, youtube, everywhere all over but no luck!
Please, can any of you give me some advice? You all seem really cool and smart and I would appreciate this greatly. :')

It probably the same as the oem top case on my 2009 gtv. The back rest is held in place with 4 screws from inside the top case. Easily removed and easily recovered.

SIP has a kit (top box + pad + rack), they may have the older style with the reflectors

+1. Just installed a new box 2 days ago. 4 screws and you're done. Bit of a job aligning it, but an extra pair of hands is golden. Just don't overtighten the new ones...you're only screwing into plastic. Nerd emoticon

Actually, I'm in the same boat...wound up switching out the tan seat on my GTS, when the dealer ordered the box later, it had the tan cushion which doesn't quite match anything else. Should have thought about that. Anyway, no big deal switching it out.

Funny, Miguel, I was thinking I'd have to buy a replacement. Never thought of the recovering option. Unless, of course, someone wants to trade for a tan.

This is pretty easy to do yourself. Its just like receiving a seat only easier since there aren't any real folds in it. Here's one possible instructional link. There's many sites and instructional vids.

Let us know if you do it and take pics so we can see what you did.

BTW, my good friend Ross Levoy runs Leatherwise here in SC. He's been doing leather products for decades. He's very friendly and will work with you to make sure the color and material works for you. He's reasonably priced. He sells mostly on eBay so knows how to ship it and also has a great shop.

PS, if you PM me, I'll tell you my real name and you can reference me when/if you call Ross.
