While I have a topbox, I like options and would love a 3/4 helmet with flip ip visor that would work in the old pet carrier. I love the look of this helmet, but there are very few reviews out there:

http://retrobikegear.com/origine-pilota-jet-style-3-4-helmet-flat-red-white/

Anyone seen one in person? Is this a decent brand? Any chance it would fit beneath the GT200's seat?

Thanks,

Eric

Overall, I'm very impressed withe the brand.

I tried to fit it under a GT/GTS seat and it's close but won't ultimately fit. It will fit under a 2015 GTS seat, bot not the 2003-2014.

That's nice feedback. I assume it's not bigger than other 3/4 helmets with visors, right? Right now I have a SparX 3/4 that fits nicely in my small topcase, but the helmet is showing signs of wear (it's about 4-5 years old) and it's pretty noisy.

Have you taken a Piolota out on the road? How is the noise at higher speeds?

Thanks,

Eric

I have. The noise was average, but I'd say slightly below average when I put down the face shield.

It's also pretty average size for a 3/4 with a face shield. It fits well in every top case I tried, and almost fits under the seat of a GT/GTS but narrowly didn't. The Z1R did fit under the seat but didn't have a flip down shield.

Thanks so much! Gotta have the shield for 70-75 mph rides in my world...being hit by a cicada or a huge grasshopper will leave a memorable impression!

I just ordered one of these helmets in the flat cream color from the same site. It is supposed to be here tomorrow. Interested to see if it fits under the seat of my '13 LX-150.

Keep us posted. My SparX fits under my ET4 seat - no problem. I'm guessing the Origine will fit fine under you LX's seat.

My old AGV full face helmet from when I used to ride a sports bike didn't fit in my under seat carrier on my GT so I farted round on the internet for nearly a week before choosing an Andea Cardone vintage leather covered open face one. It arrived yesterday and looks the absolute bollocks except it doesn't fit in the bloody carrier either. Think I'm going to try a Hedon next as I think they are the best looking helmets this side of an Atelier Ruby

I like the looks of the origine, and the price with Bluetooth ain't too bad. I'm thinking of trying one, and hopefully it will fit under the seat of my 2015 GTS.

The bluetooth helmet fits perfectly under the 2015 GTS seat, but not the 2006-2014.

I have the cream Origine and a 2008 250 - if you flip the helmet upside down and open the face shield to the middle level, you can squeeze the helmet in. It isn't ideal, and you have to be careful not to damage the shield when you take it out, but it's a last resort when you can't take your helmet with you/you don't have a top case/you don't want to leave the helmet hooked up outside.

I'll post a picture later.

Cool. Lookin forward to the pic!

What do you think of the helmet itself? How is the wind noise? Size fitting pretty normal for a helmet?

Being kind of a newbie to scooter life (first scooter in July, first Vespa last week!) I have little to compare it to, but I like it. Fit is good (even though I had to buy the XL and it makes me look a bit like a bobblehead version of myself) and the integrated Blinc bluetooth is wonderful.

Note that in pictures, the helmet looks like it has a dark face shield but it's actually transparent - though you can get darker face shields.

Clear is what I prefer in a shield. My current helmet came with both clear and lightly shaded, and riding at night was bad with the shaded.

As you can see, it's not ideal but it works in a pinch!

That doesn't look too terrible to me. I do have a small top case - just big enough for my current 3/4 helmet, but I'd like to have the option of putting the brain bucket in the pet carrier, too! LOL.

It just requires a little patience and putting the helmet in the right angle.
