So, on my way to work yesterday I stopped at a light and noticed a gasoline smell. Since there was a gas station right there, I didn't think much of it until I look down and saw that I was standing in a puddle of gas, ready to imitate the Human Torch. I turned off the scoot, pushed it to the gas station, asked them if I could leave it there for the day and figured out a way to get to work because I really didn't have time to do anything on the spot.
Once at work, it took me literally 5 minutes on Modern Vespa to a) have the most likely diagnosis of the problem, and b) know exactly what I had to do to fix it. After work I stopped to buy a foot of fuel line and 2 hose clamps, then got a few tools from my garage and headed back to the gas station. In less than half an hour I had confirmed the problem (the all-too-common crack in the tap-to-pump hose), fixed it, and got my baby back home.
I know I haven't posted here in a long time (long story), but I wanted to really give my heartfelt thanks to Jess, the mods, and everyone who puts time here to both describe their mechanical problems and how to fix them, and/or help others do so.
