I hope it's true that there's no such thing as a stupid question!

I ordered a top case (shad 33) for my Fly, and I understand that I'll probably want bar-end weights now as well. I ride with a passenger quite often. I don't feel like the front end is light or twitchy, but then again, this is my first scooter and I don't know how it's "supposed" to feel. I am quite hesitant to throw the scooter into corners like I would a sport bike, but is that because the front end is light? Maybe it's because it's not a sport bike. Also, I never rode a mc with a passenger so I'm new both to scooters and to carrying pillion.

Back to bar-end weights...do they come in different sizes or weights? If so, how do I choose what size to get? Are there style considerations? If I'm planning to get Grip Puppies (thanks for the suggestion, Carl), should the weights and the puppies be installed at the same time?

Thanks all! Your help and advice are priceless.

Wobble, seems to attach itself to the Vespa. Often times added weights that you mention help. I had a Honda CH250 for 10 years with a rear box without any problems. I have a top box and the bar end weights on my Vespa. Odd thing is if I have a front rack on no wobble, take it off and you guessed it wobble, wobble, wobble. Seems like Vespa would just fix this problem !Seemingly holding your breath and waiting won't help. HEY VESPA LIKE WTF fix this problem, otherwise I really like my bike. Wha? emoticon Wha? emoticon Wha? emoticon

It is the 250/300 GTS (prior to the ABS model with redesigned front suspension) that was particularly prone to front end wobble. The LX is much less prone to this in my experience. I'd expect the Fly to be more like the LX. Sure, use the bar end weights that come with the top case (or get a set that are a step heavier than your current ones), but I doubt you'll have a problem.

I have a Fly. Dooglas is right - I have never experienced front end wobble. I bought the scooter with the top box already fixed in place. No wobble. Later, I fitted bar end weights - only because I liked the neoprene Tucano Urbano muffs. The Fly is a great little workhorse, and surprisingly good fun to ride, with or without Top box/bar end weights.

+1 Assuming the LX is close enough, I put a topcase on, no bar weights, and never a problem, even with a good-sized load in it.

I wouldn't worry about it for now. Should a problem arise, you can always deal with it later.

Buy the way, having spent maybe 20 years of my life sitting in classrooms, there ARE such things as stupid questions. Headache emoticon Furtunately, the vast majority are just fine.

My 2015 never had any wobble and I considered myself pretty lucky. Then I added an F.A. Italia folding rear rack, small Faco windshield, and Ram mount about two weeks ago. Now the thing wobbles on decel from about 40-30 MPH. Thing is, if I take my hands off the bars I can see them wobbling, but the bike keeps going straight. It's pretty annoying. I'm wondering if it could be because the Ram mount is mounted on the mirror and now the wind isn't going around the bike evenly.

Weight up front seems to allay the wobble. I find that with a full screen, GoPro mount, GPS mount and GPS, Miss Agnes watching over things, rubber bulb horn, and miscellaneous items in the glove box the wobble has gone.

Oh, and Michelin City Grips help, too.

Thanks for all the help, people.

As for Miss Agnes, she doesn't look the least bit heavy!
