This has been discussed in several threads previously (somewhere).

I don't know about your year, but compared with GPS I measured my 05 PX150 as indicating 8% + 5 over real speed. So, if I'm really only going 46, it'll say I'm going 55. Somebody somewhere said Euro scooter speedos were in general up to 10% generous.

Yup, scooter speedometers are very "optimistic".

In the US, only commercial vehicles have accuracy standards under federal law.

The EU sets vehicle speedometer standards as follows:

The indicated speed must never be less than the actual speed, i.e. it should not be possible to inadvertently speed because of an incorrect speedometer reading.

The indicated speed must not be more than 110 percent of the true speed plus 4 km/h at specified test speeds. For example, at 80 km/h, the indicated speed must be no more than 92 km/h.

Perhaps that gives an idea as to why the "optimism".

sorry, not to be a party pooper. But stock P/PX125 are super slow. New ones are a little peppier as they have a little more power.
Speedos are rarely correct even on new motorcycles.

mine actually runs slow. But fast is most common, and by design as noted. If you get an accurate GPS read (good phone app or whatever) you'll know where you're at

I didn't use a GPS. I just downloaded some free speedometer app for my smartphone and taped it to my thigh in a ziplock bag. Then I rode at 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 by the speedo and let the app record my real speeds. When I got home I got to work with a spreadsheet to figure out the "correction factor".

It looked idiotic but did the trick for testing.
