Sorta same....
I have one of those seats and the approximate pattern that you show is always visible underneath, which looks a bit strange but whatever.
However, your pic seems to show that yours presents in a weirder way, as though it was not well done underneath. If it doesn't settle down to just being merely uncool looking, you might want to consider a return. Or having someone put some fiber or foam under the cover to hide the thing.

Mine doesn't look nearly as bad as yours and I am still thinking of having a place put a liner underneath whatever that cover thing is made of. Gel gets really hot and doesn't breathe, so there are advantages to covering it.

Is that a aftermarket seat? Nerd emoticon If so i'd get a new one from the company that sold it to you. It didn't look like the one you could attach to the stock seat.

Unfortuntely I bought it second hand so i cant return it

I will however yes have to get a upholsterer to put some kind of lining underneath it to see if it can be covered so the pattern doesn't get worse

so i found some time and dismantled the gel seat
the gel is not gel its like glue, or maybe its gel but crap gel

so now i have this problem and i can't figure out what to do. The goo is so sticky it is extremely difficult to remove

has anyone got any suggestion of how to remove the goo without damaging the seat or the foam

see pic
(schuss the bed sheets its my sons bed
also check this eBay links dinky out, it will show u a vespa seat and the exact pattern like mine is used in this seat. I don't know what the best solution is here to repair this, I fi put a piece of foam in it it may cause a pattern again

any suggestions peeps

Take it to an upholstererer. They should be able to replace the foam for a reasonable fee.

I took all of my seats to Bob's Upholstery to have the 'hump' or contour removed. Cost between $60 and $100, depending upon what else he did, i.e. new vinyl cover.

Put it in a freezer. Just like you do with chewing gum. Once frozen should peel off. Maybe and hopefully that will work for you. Remind me not to get a gel seat!

I am interested to see if...
this happens to anyone else. I have had the exact saddle on my GTS for about two years and it is fine. It is a bit weird to see the outline of the gel underneath whatever-the-cover-is, but the saddle has performed well for me. I have never seen gel of any sort do whatever happened to the OP's saddle-that is very unusual.

so i went to the trmmers today
no luck beyond repair

they tried so many different types of removal solutions for the gel glue and nothing yep nothing can get it out
the foam yes can be repaired

so i tried contacting piaggio to see if i can buy a replacement cover but noooooooo impossible as they say, you must buy the whole seat

not fair

all i want to do is buy a cover. this is ridiculous

Take the current cover to a vehicle upholstery shop. Have them make you a new cover using the old cover as a pattern.

went to 2 upholsteres
a new cover with the same pattern. 150bucks minimum, as the bootleg stiching is the problem

so based on that may as well get a new seat
bugger

Try Cheeky Seats? They do custom seats. Not cheap($100 or so) but they could do something cool to it. Even if you don't want to pay a lot of money, you should check out their website. Pretty amazing 8) Good luck and if you can, post a pic of what you get.

I got a hole in my first gel seat and that stuff would leak out and stick to my clothes. It's a nuisance.

Considering to option is to replace the seat I'd think about a DIY repair. Basically cut out the gel portion and replace with convential foam or a Saddlemen gel pad insert.
http://www.saddlemen.com/saddlegel-gel-seat-comfort-pads-1

The process of modding your seat is described on this site- http://www.diymotorcycleseat.com/

I'm thinking about doing this for my new new seat- Honda somehow's developed a seat padding that hardens up as you sit on it. I guess that way the seat will never wear out (your butt is another story).

I agree. There's lots of useful info on the site. I've read the site details over the years because I'd really like to design my own seat but just haven't had time. The tools needed are pretty minimal and you can have several goes at it to get it right.

Good luck with it. Please keep us in the loop wrt to how you solve your problem.

Best
