I was cleaning up today and came across the full pump recall letter I got a few months ago. Dealer told me that Piaggio sent out second wave of letters. I did not receive it during the first wave. I already took care of it for myself.

I thought I'd post this for others that haven't received it, for example if you bought a used Piaggio or Vespa and they don't know you own the bike so couldn't find you. Dealers can check your VIN to see if you're eligible or if the previous owner had done the recall already. You can also call Piaggio.

Took about an hour at San Jose Vespa. I waited for it.

Best
Miguel

Very cool M. Wonder why they didn't recall the fuel senders on the LX 150's fron '07 thru the 2010 models that had them?

You mean the fuel pump in LX150s before 2011? I believe that only includes some late 2009 and 2010 scooters which had a carb and electric fuel pump. Probably the same reason Piaggio did not recall 2006-2007 GTS 250s - different make or design of fuel pump.

No fuel pump on the earlier carbed Leader engines. Sounds like you mean your fuel gauge doesn't work correctly. Whole different discussion.

Notice the words "select range." I have a 2008, and the serial number did not qualify. Shame on them. Went bad under 1000 miles. I purchased my 250 GTS several years back with only 500 miles on it. I did change the pump myself. Tricky....but doable thanks to a pictorial link someone posted here. I think doing it a second time I could do it in less than one hour.
