I have an 06' 200L that squeals on take off. Once it gets up an going it doesn't do it, but does so every time I start from a start or at 5mph.

Any idea what this could be?

Given the age of your scooter I'm guessing that you need some maintenance on your clutch.

Likely the clutch bell and the clutch friction shoes are glazed.

A quick blast of compressed air , through the holes when you remove the shiny Vespa logo on the cvt cover can sometimes help if it's a buildup of clutch dust. Or what I do is out of laziness get the clutch bell and shoes lightly sanded every year during the service.

I agree with the others- the most likely cause would be a slipping clutch. If you have the tools and the skill, scrub the inside of the bell and the clutch pads with a wire brush at your next belt change.

Use some brake cleaner if the compressed air doesn't help.

If you don't take it out fast I'd take it somewhere to open it up for at least a solid 10 minutes near WOT. You should really do that at least once per month during riding season to burn off whatever collects.
