I made a new Rotopax mount for my scooter. I previously had both the fuel and water 1 gallon packs mounted on the rear rack. I needed a new mount for this upcoming trip to Mexico because I'll be using the rear mount for my duffel bag.

I fab'd the mount with 1/4" plate steel and 1" 90 wall tubing. I used the water jet to cut out the top and bottom mounts and then a tubing bender to bend the tube to sit as close to the scooter as possible.

Welded and then powder coated it gloss black. I am surprised how well it turned out.

I mounted it using the side screws for the decorative plate on the right side of the scooter and then the bottom is mounted in place of the right passenger foot rest.

It's easily removable and takes about 15 minutes to go from stock to mount. I tried stacking the rotopax but they interfere with my leg when I am trying to maneuver around. A single pack is barley noticeable.

Now that is a remarkably classy mod. I love that you can reverse it in minutes. Great work!

Really first rate work. Looks great, and getting that weight closer to the middle of the bike is a good thing.

We're going to a place called San Quintin. Should be a fun trip. I'm riding from Phoenix to San Diego then down to Mexico from there. It'll be a long ride there. I'm interested to see how well the scooter holds up on a long trip, mostly WOT. I'm going to bring an extra belt and all the tools required to change one out on the road. I'm hoping that I don't need to change one!

Thanks for the kind words.

I'll be looking to see how this works out. It looks like a nice installation. Be careful you don't lose the center stand on a tope. If you dont know what a good is, you're in for an education.

Nice work! Sounds like a great trip. The road to San Quentin is surprisingly good, you ought to have a great time. Phoenix to SD can be a grueling ride though, especially if it's hot. How many days are you planning to spend in Mexico?

Very ingeniuous mod! You noted that only one would tank would fit - so which one are you going to take? I would probably opt for a fuel one and then take water either in a camelbak or some type of collapsible bladder.

Have a great trip! Bien viaje!

I think I'm going to take both on the trip over to San Diego in case I break down somewhere. In Mexico I'll just bring the fuel can.

I should be gone for about 5 days. A lot of miles....

A lovely piece of work, I envy your access to water jet cutting and tube benders. Have a great trip.
