Hello All,
Just a quick message to see if anyone has put the 13 inch wheels from the new MP3500 LT onto a Fuoco or an old shape MP3500LT? Is it just plug and play?
Cheers,

I wondered about that too.
Any pictures around of the modification?
And most importantly does it improve the ride over rough roads?

yes it will fit wheel hubs are the same also the rear will fit on the fuoco and older mp3's 400

Google and you will find even Vespa's with the new 13" on them and mp3's wih vespa rims

But beware the tyre is allmost the same height as the 12" only more expensive

This is the best mod you can do on Fuoco imo. i bought my fuoco last year, brand new and if i knew that the difference on handling with the 13'' wheel would be so big, i would order these wheels to come with the new bike, i wouldnt drive it with the stock 12'' even for 100m. So big difference!!!

here is a photo about how it looks

cheers

Would love to have a test ride!

Have you informed your insurance company? In England is important you run every modification by them. Otherwise you may have some difficult conversations if you have to make a claim.

Piaggio dealer/service brought these and did the installation, in a case of accident I won't have any problem at all to claim anything.

And u re welcome for a test ride, easy if your next holidays will be in Crete. Or I may come over in London with my fuoco on spring 😊

Wow...
I don't care much for the Looks of the Stock Fuoco Bikes, but this really looks good. Changes the Appearance...

Unrelated, but where do I get a windscreen or whatever that black thing is called? I like the way it looks, and my riding in Florida does not require the full size screen I have.

You need the Center Hubs...
Maybe get the Piaggio ones, and get Decal's made for the Fuoco to go over the top.

I'm a little confused, do you mean the sidewall height, or the overall diameter of the tire on the wheel from ground to top? Because if it's a thinner tire and the overall diameter doesn't really increase, then yeah I don't see the point.

It's the stock windscreen on a Fuoco-style 500. Pretty certain it won't fit on a new style 500 or the lower models.

I think the center hub plug of the Gilera Runner would be a direct fit and there's no Piaggio logo on it...

Guys, Just that a bit increase, believe it or not, makes a huge difference, is like I got a new bike! I was struggling on steering to take a fast turn and now I m doing it with one hand on higher speeds! I feel like I got a Ducati, so big difference 😮

that got nothing to do with the ride hight just the smaller tyre is a different

i've got customers who fitted 90/80/12 (90/13) on there front's

Tyre brand give you also different experiance a Pirelli is wider then a michelin a Dunlop is softer

All the other differences aside, those 13 inch front wheels with the polished ring and Piaggio hubcaps are the best looking scooter wheels in town.

Leave it to the Italians to come up with real style.

Do you think it is the narrower tire that makes the difference?

Is that a chrome or reflective tape ring?

It is the taller rim that makes the difference. It creates more gyroscopic force which makes the scooter more stable. It is exactly like how a Kymco with 16" rims handles much better then a scooter with 10" or 12" rims. I am sure that 1" difference is very noticeable like Costa has stated.

13'' installed
mp3 400 with 13'' Yourban front wheels. Very improved stability especially while cornering and on the motorway. It worths every one of the 170e it costs.

😊

A photo with closer look:
Just fitted the same wheels to the front of my 2008 fuoco ,the rim edges are just machined alloy finish with a clear lacquer as standard but i have polished them which looks even better. The centre i have used the round gilera badge that is used on the handlebar cover and just glued them on with silicone sealant . I have also fitted new EBC wavy brake discs what a difference to the look of the fuoco as i always thought that the spoke type wheels with the polished centre cover looked like they had come off a Silvercross pram. As for the insurance company what a ball ache trying to tell them they are original equipment on later models and when i was asked how much this modificatin cost and i told them the wheels cost £70 the pair and new tyres £79 the guy i think did not believe me. By the way for UK owners that was Bennetts, Bikesure were as bad and eventualy i went with LV as they were the cheapest at £114 fully comp and cover you riding gear which is a major expence these days.

I can confirm everything that Costa says about the improvement to the handling ( and the looks) on the fuoco by fitting the 13" snowflake ( as i call them) front wheels and the 110.70.13 city grips. I have just spent a week and 1200 mls on the roughest roads in the British Isles , on the Isle of Man. I feel alot more confident throwing the fuoco into fast winding bends knowing i don't have to force it back up like i did before, slow about town manoeuvres and slow crawling traffic is greatly improved. It was WELL worth the small cost of doing it.

From what my mechanic tells me its an absolute bitch to fit the 14" rear wheel on the old 12" 250. What i've read here on MV seems to confirm that. Can be done, but difficult. I dont think the labor costs would be reasonable either.

That being said, i test fitted the 13" fronts. Borrowed a set. Had to pull the fenders but it seemed to run fine. Didnt look as stupid as i thought.

That being said, until i can figure out the fenders i'm not gonna buy the set. My bike is has an LT conversion, its not a real LT so the spacers mess up the fitment a bit. Even with the stock wheels i've had trouble with gravel getting stuck between the wheel and fenders and shooting out when i start rolling...
