I'm considering installing a set of heated grips for the upcoming fall/winter riding season. The HOTGRIPS on ScooterWest are $80 and the same product as the Koso heated grips on Amazon for $55. At least I think they are!

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007GLVHG2?colid=2RJTHLO4H7UVW&coliid=I1E7TQ5V73KCI6&psc=1&ref_=wl_it_dp_o_pd_nS_ttl

Before I order, can somebody confirm that the diameter I need is 7/8" for one grip and 1" for the other?

I couldn't find a verified source of handlebar diameters - also wanted to share the good price in case any of you were thinking of doing the same on your Vespas.

If you buy them on Amazon, don't forget to use the sponsor link on the main page, so MV website gets some credit! The link is at the bottom of the main page....

Handlebars on gts are standard 22mm.

But throttle side grip goes over the rotating sleeve.

22mm is a tiny bit smaller than 7/8 but that should be fine. Grips generally fit quite tightly.

So do I need 7/8" for both grips, or 7/8" for the left and 1" for the right?

That's a tricky one to answer. Some manufacturers say 'for 7/8" bars' - but the RH grip is actually 1" to accommodate the throttle tube. Others explicitly state '7/8" - 1"'.

If they give a diameter for each side, I'd go for the 7/8" - 1", but be prepared to send them back.

scooterwest sells chose heated grip. if you want the best heated grips you do want the hot grip brand http://www.hotgrips.com

by far the best. but you get what you pay for.

if you want cheap do the koso.

This. I'm pretty sure you'll be fine.

Thanks. I was mistaken about the two products being the same.
