Friday's ride will be the dragon and then over to Tellico plains for the bakery and the skyway. Maybe a 28/129 loop up to deals.
Sat will be down 28 to highlands for lunch and then some really nice back roads making our way back to robbinsville for ice cream .

we are planning on leaving from Deals Gap NLT 9:30 am, so get there early and have breakfast and buy your t-shirts and stickers. or stop in town for breakfast first but we are leaving there NLT 9:30 am.

ride the dragon and then over to Tellico plains for lunch at Tellico Grains Bakery. then from there up the Cherohala Skyway. We then can go over to Fontana Dam and finally back to the Two inn.

just a friendly reminder for those coming.

please ensure your scoot or m/c is all up to amintenace speed. IE: good tires, brakes, belts and all that normal stuff. getting new tires while we are there ain't happening and there is NOTHING around especially on the weekends. and some of the roads we will be on are not even on the beaten path.

If you guys can tell me a day you are riding south like towards Suches?
I will ride up and meet you along the route.

We stuck with our cabin at Dragon's Rest instead of trying to move over to Two Wheel since our deposit was non-refundable. It's less than half a mile between the two so it's easy enough to get back and forth.

We have a 600-mile day on Thursday so you're not apt to see us until well into the evening.

only 600 thats nothing for you iron butt folks. no worries I am sure we will be sitting around having a cocktail.

Any thoughts on the gas situation?

Today in Nashville I couldn't find it this morning but did find it easy this afternoon. They marshaled trucks to move gas. Probably we should be smart about it, but probably ok?

I was there with Luthorhuss the previous gas crunch 8 years ago after hurricane shut down Houston refineries. Much worse impact overall, but Robbinsville and Deals Gap had gas. Deals gap would only sell to motorcycles during crunch.

Around here small towns are fine, but bigger cities have more gas stations out of gas.

As long as there isn't a beer shortage...

highly recommend you bring what you like.

it looks pretty darn good.

We will be sleeping in a dry county, so definitely bring what you like and some to share, or stay sober.

Do you know where your eating in Highlands?
It looks like I can get to where your having lunch in about 2 1/2 hours, then head back.

We're staying next door at Dragon's Rest Cabins. You could always check there to see if they've still got anything available.

I probably wont be drinking. If we are hanging with everyone at the Inn then needing to ride back to the cabins... yea. gonna be dry. I have zero tolerance for myself in regard to riding with alcohol in system.

Last time we went to Highlands group split up and ate multiple places. We will typically park on main street halfway between 3rd and 4th wherever we can find open spaces. Of course many of us will finish with an ice cream next to Kilwins.

A group of us coming from south and west plan to meet up and get lunch in Telico Plains at noon. This would put us in Robbinsville around 2:30 to 3:00 after riding over the Cherohala from Telico Plains. You could always ride over to meet up with us. You won't mind riding it in both directions or even again as part of our Friday ride.

I'm bringing some warm gear along in case the mornings are cool. It says upper 50s, which is apt to feel a bit chilly after some of the heat we've had.

Really excited about this trip. Weather looks great. Some of my favorite roads. TWO lunches at my favorite bakery. Good fellowship. The Sooners will NOT get beat this weekend. Gonna be perfect.

All the Gas Stations here in Atlanta are back open...
I filled up my Truck this morning.
I didn't have any issues North of Atlanta last weekend, didn't really give this a second thought since I stop at all the Non-Ethanol locations.

I feel very confident I will be riding up to meet you guys on Saturday for Lunch from Atlanta. I have exchanged a few cell phone numbers with some of you. The Tracker updates every 3 Minutes like dropping stones, but it does not track like a GPS does following a Road or Highway.
