I'm a long way from home, had a flat tire in Minnesota. A nice man changed out the tire this morning with a spare I had, but he didn't have the equipment to balance the small wheel. I took the scooter on a short test ride to about 50 mph, my normal cruising speed, and didn't notice any unusual vibration. I will ride approx. 225 miles to northern Minnesota today. I have about 6,000 to 7,000 miles left on my trip after that.

Note: the previous time the tire was changed out on this (rear) wheel, it was checked for balance but did not need any weights.

My Questions: How important is wheel balance? When I get to northern Minnesota, should I take the wheel off and have the balance checked?

Thanks for your help.

If you are not feeling unusual vibration, I'd keep riding.

I agree with Craig, if no issues then no need to balance it. The balancing mainly counteracts the weight of the valve so you shouldn't have any issues.

Where in Norsota are you? I just moved from there and could recommend some eateries.
