Hi Guy's, am interested to see if anyone who has had the seat sensor out when re-appolstering......do any of you know what exactly the device is??
Is it a strain gauge resistive or capacitive ? I have read the posts here so far concluding that it measures approximately 3k ohms, which leads me to believe it is likely a strain gauge but would like to know for sure.....looking through the seat vent holes ya can't see much, basically a strip of metalic material covered in clear plastic shell with small 5mm or so hole for venting.
It appears this is possibly where the water ingress takes place that messes with the resistance value that makes the microcontroller go nuts messing with the ignition and engine reving issues that folks complain about.
Any info greatly appreciated. Dave Vancouver BC Canada

Not the best, but some pictures available in the thread I did on my seat.

Project Seat Redo - 500

I think there are some other (old) threads that might have better info if you spend some time with the search function
