I got the coolant from the dealer, the proper kind---Agip. It is red in color. When I drained out the old stuff it was green (looked like Prestone). So I have no idea what was in there as I bought the scoot used with no records. Not knowing if or when it was changed I wanted to made sure there was no rust or dirty coolant in it. At least it looked clean. I know you are not supposed to mix coolant but I don't think I got it all out. I did put in a little more than one quart. I'll probably drain it again next year. Also was a bit disappointed that there was no bleed nipple on the thermostat like the GT250 has. I could find NO information on how to change the coolant on the GT200. I suppose I could have taken the hose off the top of the thermostat to drain that side but I only had one hose clamp so I cheated. So what's left of the old coolant is what was in the hose on the left side that goes from the motor to the left radiator I would assume. Hope It'll be OK.
Not sure if what I was told relates to Vespa coolant but when we went to the Red Coolant(long life) on the off highway Cat equipment and such I was told that mixing the "normal" and "long life" only caused a problem with the long life attributes. So basically even though you now have red coolant you should consider it to be the green stuff. Personally I would not panic. AS you said you will change it again next year and at that time be sure to flush all the system you should be good to go.
Look at it this way if the straight green stuff was going to cause a problem you would have had the problem by now.
I just grab some distilled water and use that to flush out the system.
The GT200 has the advantage of self-bleeding. Just run a couple minutes and check the tank level.
