Modern Vespa

Hey Guys,

i have an SS90 from new zealand out of paint. normally i prefer original paint but in that case it is impossible. what i try to is to make it "original" with color and parts.
so in choosed this green which existed only in nz:

can anybody help me with the colorcode or has an idea where to ask?!

If "nz ss90" gets no results, try "appliance white"

this is what i already did. tanks.
but the pages in italian, in german don't help. because this green only existed in new zealand and the guys from italy have no idea about it....

Hey Phonkie, I'm an italian vespa biker, is it your vespa a 90 ss (Super Sprint ) model code: VMA1T? In this case your vespa model was made from 1965 to 1972 and its original Piaggio color codes were: red 2.2685850 ; red 2.268.5802 ( from 1968 ) and peacock blue 1.298.7220 . Antirust frame color: light brown ( hazelnut ) 3000M. Paddle boxes, rims and front wheel hub: silver 1.268.0983 .

I realise English is not your first language so will try not to write too much.

I have had a few of these, in fact am picking one up today in some kind of burgundy red colour?

If it looks as good as it does in the picture, why paint it? It looks ok to me and better in OG paint with some touch ups in my opinion.

If you are going to paint it remember that due to import restrictions in NZ at the time 20% of the scooter had to come from local content. They used tyres, racks, seats, and paint to meet this stipulation.

These were painted by a company called Airco. You may be able to contact them or the NZ scooter clubs to get some OG paint or paint codes but it may be easier to have it colour matched in Italy as they will not send paint by airmail.
