Hi! I am 16 years old and this is my first moped, I know it is not a scooter but I came here because my dad uses this forum for his vintage Vespas. I am here because I didn't get much help on moped army over the past few months. If any of you guys or gals have a running/adequate condition Vespa bravo engine I can purchase that would be fantastic.
The problem with my moped is that it will not idle, it will start 5/10 times, it won't make it up any hills no matter how small over 5mph, the top speed is 15 on flat. It is a variated 1978 bravo which should be going around 30 mph on flat. Here is a list of everything I have tried:
following.
Fuel system: New Carb. Proper jet, new filter, new fuel line, filter, cleaned tap, acid cleaned tank, lined tank with redcoat (Fuel system is clean)
Elect. New points, ignition coil, low voltage coil, condenser, sparkplug, wire & cap
Clutch is new (with old starter shoe assemble would not fit),
Belt is new
New cylinder head: compression 120psi, piston and rings look great, exhaust has been cleaned with Draino and inspected (ok)
