Great find. I enjoyed the video. It seems those
original riding clubs really got into the sport.

Like most, I get in a measure of solo riding. I
actually enjoy group rides the most.

A seriously good find!

I like the bit about push scooters toward the end - interesting given the current popularity of micro-scooters among kids and adults.

Nice video! Most of the locations in the video are quite close to where I live. The riding instructors must of been very brave in those days.

What I'm struck by is how different England was. English cars were different and English films (Room at the Top, The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner, A Taste of Honey,etc.) had a totally different look from Hollywood movies.

I suppose a lot has been gained by globalization, container ships, new means of communication, and all the rest. Still I liked it better when all the cultures were less homogenized and foreign was a little more exotic.

My mum has this on a set of Look at Life DVDs she bought, and showed it to me. For her it was nostalgia as she remembered watching them the first time round...

Ah, yes. Been there; done that. The clip sure brought back memories of my scootering days in the late sixties. I didn't go to the Crystal Palace rally, but did do the Isle of Man Week in 1967. And a bunch of local ones.

Anyone from that era remember the Torbay Tiger rallies in Devon?
