I don't know what it is about this guy. I spoke to him... 4 years(?) ago, He flips bikes like nobody's business. Alot of really crappy frozen engines. I'm not actually sure where he gets them from, but it's kinda sketchy.

benefit of the doubt?
Seems to be as he described it mostly, it's been in a fire and he says the plastic & rubber parts are dead. I see surface rust, but no rot in the pics(obviously you'd need to inspect in person to confirm). He plainly states the motor is frozen, but the only really 'sketchy' part to me is " electric start scooter." On a '74 Rally?
Price seems hi if you'd have to replace ALL rubber & plastic(Femsatronic, wiring, cables & speedo too most likely) AND fix the motor AND deal with the dents & paint, but it seems the pics show pretty much what he said. The seat springs are probably ruined from the heat, so figure a complete new seat too. I guess you'd really have to want a Rally to go after this sad example for what he's asking. |

Someone should rescue that, but arriving at a price is a tough one for a fire damaged scooter like that.
I'd have a hard time thinking anyone will go over $1k, but you never know. |

MMM, rusty AND melty! All in one package.
It would make a great parts donor, or a good start if you had a really bad frame... but to restore it without another parts donor is gonna cost you some serious coin. |

The body is basically smoke damaged and no holes. Blast it and you've got a decent foundation. It's all there.
Consider it a straight body needing blasting and a pair of cases. I still think you'd pay nearer to $1k than $300. In fact, if he did pull it apart and blast it, he'd probably get more, as you'd see what you really have. Wiring, cables, anything with plastic are all going in the bin. The only reason I say that, though, is that it's a Rally. Otherwise, I'm probably pricing in SoCal's territory. |

Shedding a tear for 14177.
I think it could be restored but it would take some doing as most have already said. I would still take that femsa boot that covers the wires though! Hard to find part there. |

I kinda like it. Smokey the Bear I'd call it. Be cool to find a way to preserve or mimic the smoke damage as patina while sealing the bike up to prevent rust/further damage.

I'm in Newport, but no time or space to start a project. Just couldn't believe someone listing a very rusty bike as no rust!
