Modern Vespa

Frank and I were both sent to the same plant in Wyoming. Apparently it had entrances each side of the multi acre plant but you had to have the correct credentials to go through the plant which neither of us had. Took a bit to get it sorted out, probably lost at 20-30 minutes on that little navigation blunder.

Well I'm on my way stopped for a nice refreshing lunch since that isn't likely to happen after July 5.

Regarding the Zumo, it's kind of late to try this but...

There is a way to do on the Zumo what I have done on my old Etrex, Show a non-changing "official route" on the screen at all times. This way if the GPS decides to take you off the "official route" you know, and you can choose what line to follow.

On the Etrex:
use GPS Visualizer to convert the route to a track
trim the points to 500 or less
change the color to green (it shows up well)
Load it to the etrex

The issue on the zumo is that it will not display the tracks, and tries to convert the track back to a route but as you can't follow two routes it all becomes a mess.

Anyhow there is a tool called GPX2IMG that will turn a GPX Track file and convert into a transparent image. The Zumo can treat that image as a custom map and layer it on top of your normal map.

Good luck everyone and i'm jealous. I'm zipping around trying to rack up a few more miles since i'm at 38,500. My dream of getting to 40,000 is getting closer. I'd be there by now if i didn't have the Vino. He's close to 10,000 and i've put 5,500 (almost) on him because he was at 4,5000 when i bought him. Be careful but have fun.
