I have a scooterist interested in installing my steering damper kit on his sidecar equipped Vespa 150 and I need to know if the front axle nut on the 150 is the same as on the heavier 200 and up series of scooters.

Essentially, I would like to know the metric thread size on the front axle of a Vespa 150 series scooter.

Thank you.

Do you mean the modern ones (LX, S, Fly etc) or the vintage ones? If the latter, better posted in NSM.

Jim,
I believe the owner of the 150 said it was only a couple of years old so I suspect it is one of the later models.
Do you happen to know it it would have the same front axle nut thread as my GT200 ?
My axle adapter has a metric 14 x 1 mm thread. (If I remember correctly)
All of the kits that I have sold went to the heavey frame models and I'm unfamiliar with the lighter 150 chassis.

the 150 & 200 share the same size nut and i'm fairly certain that the 250 does as well.

best,

greasy 125,

Thank you very much. I kind of suspected that the axle threads were common to both models, but I wasn't sure. UP until now, all the Vespa steering damper kits that I have delivered were going to the heavy chassis models, 200 cc and up, and one never knows.
I received a querry from a potential customer with a late model 150 Vespa who had apparently installed a Cozy sidecar and now had a shimmy that is uncontrolable. Even by a mountain gorrilla.! I had the same thing on one of my Vespa GT200Ls and developed the kit to make it serviceable.
Again, thank you for the information.
