Once the leg shields are cut can pieces be welded on safely to return the body to its proper shape! Or would that basically be a bodge? There is only one picture so I cannot see if anything else is cut.

Retro - looks like you seriously caught the bug.

Not sure what that model is, but I did a quick search online and found a complete legshield for a Rally for $185, so I imagine others might be similar. But the repair will come with some serious welding, probably best done by a professional (but I bet you could get it torn down in no time!).

I think that's a real Deal of the Day find.... I mean, it runs and isn't too ugly.

why?
Why would you want to? This is your chance to play with a cutdown for 500 bones!

Buy that, replace the terrible white tractor seat and find a friend who can weld in a bar for a moto tank and buy some pike nutz.

Yeah if you buy that you've gotta embrace it for what it is. You can change it up but it's got to stay a cutdown.

Ok, I was expecting this to be about a certain '74 Rally that you beat the guy down to something reasonable pricewise.

Other than that, good question w/ good answers that I can add nothing to. Agree that if cut downs don't really appeal to you that you should just keep looking. And apparently you are looking, so that's good cuz no way just one scooter is enough for a guy with your energy and a scooter always in pieces.
