Modern Vespa

For the last few weeks I've been busy overhauling my project at DoubleGood.co.uk and I thought some of you might enjoy a look at some tasty new swag. I hope I'm not overstepping the line regarding forum etiquette and promotional posts, I'm just excited to show the new pictures off.

Some of you will remember the original pack of Vespa wasp stickers that were black & white and black & red? I've updated the set with more colour and a broader range of wasp sizes. The new set has a whole bunch of orange and red wasps arranged on a pre-cut sticker sheet. And they're now laminated to protect the print. A big improvement all round I think...





For a long time I've wondered about making the scooter wasps into a repeating surface pattern. Now I've applied the idea to neck tube scarves and I'm really pleased with the outcome. I went to town with all the scooter drawings in this, there are loads of different models and colours...





Lastly, there will soon be a couple of new wasp enamel pin badges. No photos ready yet, but I can say they are based on different scooters to the earlier pins and they are set in new colourways. Previous editions depicted older classic Vespas, the new ones are more towards the modern era. Anyone care to make a guess?

When the pins are ready I will update DoubleGood's banner advert at the bottom of the pages on MV. Interested parties can keep an eye out for the banner, or perhaps connect up with DoubleGood's new Facebook page.

Those look amazing! I love my pin and the stickers I bought from you last year! I've gotten numerous compliments on the pin from scooterists and non-scooterists alike.

I love my wasp pin badge that you did for the Forum some time ago.

My Vespa has gone but the badge will always remind me of the fun that I had on both my GTV 125 and GTS Super Sport 125.

--- Yeah, maybe!... a patch of the 'Vespa Piaggio Italia' circular emblem is a possibility for the future. I'd have to reconsider some of the details and probably simplify the lettering style in order to accomodate the embroidery process, but I think it could work out well. With a patch, you lose some detail but you gain the texture and depth of the fabric.

A wasp on its own (without the circle emblem) could make a nice patch too.

The neck tube looks really great! And I need a new one...

Everyone always asks about your beautiful wasp pins, I have one on each riding jacket. I have the Vespa Anno 1946 T-shirt which also gets noticed, especially when I'm riding the 946.
I've put the tube scarf on my Christmas wish list - m kids are always looking for reasonably priced presents for Dad/Grampo. Perfect!

New pin badges are in! I've updated the little banner advert at the bottom of the forum. Here's a bigger picture to get a better idea.

The models depicted this time are more from the modern era compared to previous editions. Characteristics can be found in the lines across the glove boxes, in the shapes of the seats, in the arrangement of the tail light clusters...

I recently re-made the wasp artwork in a monochrome pattern for a new scarf.

The scarves came in a couple of days ago... Really happy with the results, the textile print looks great:
