Long Way Home.

This time around, it's very approachable and appears on the surface to be much less contrived than the previous iteration, with the electric Hogs. Ewan is on a 1974 Moto Guzzi Eldo CHP special with a functioning siren, and Charlie went with the safe choice, a BMW R75/5. They've released 7 episodes so far, and I've enjoyed all of them. They ride in some pretty bad weather, especially in Norway during Summer. The Rivians are still in the show, but in Norway, there are charging stations, so they don't need a diesel generator on a semi following them.
All in all, it lookd like they are really having fun.

Just stumbled across this!

So, Judith played the part of Miette in "City of Lost Children", one of my favorite movies.

So cool to see people 30 years later!

Besides watching horrible skateboarding and 'scooter' crashes on YouTube (those silly push scooter things, not our Vespa type scooters), we've begun a 'second time around' of the Great British Baking Show series.

Ever watch the downhill long boarders? Those guys are insane. Fun to watch, though.

Dept. Q is amazing. Didn't expect to like Clarkson's Farm, but it is interesting how he hones in on farmer's issues in the UK. Watching Perry Mason from the beginning. I'm on season 4. Love the cars and LA before it got too weird.

Don't get fooled by Clarkson, he's just a grifter who would sell his Mother if he thinks it would make him a few quid and get him back in the limelight.

There must be 1000's of shows on 100's of channels to choose from and you want to watch a rerun of a cooking show?

I know, odd isn't it?....but it has Paul Hollywood and Noel Fielding, so what's not to like?

Also, from the viewpoint of someone who barely has the patience to microwave a frozen Marie Challenger meatloaf dinner for four minutes, watching the show's bakers tackle crazy deserts with bunny faces and French names is surprisingly entertaining.

We burned through all of the Clarkson Farm episodes in record time too. My mother-in-law, 'Babs', who spent almost her entire life on a northwestern Iowa farm absolutely loved that show.

It almost made me want to plant some backyard tomatoes, and call it Diddly-Squat Garden.

I forgot to mention South Park didn't I?

There are too many grifters. I have just finished season three of Fargo on Amazon. I loved the film and series one. The rest were pretty good too. Next on the list is Smoke. Apple TV+

Though no more than that should be said about it here..'rules', and all that.

Red Bull soapbox races on YouTube, and while there, take in some RC plane crash videos, motorcycle crash and skateboard crash videos (the latter particularly savage and hard to watch. Jeebers kids, wear a helmet if you insist on smashing your heads into concrete like that, ok?).

Currently re-watching a bunch of older British Bake off shows as well.

I have been out of town a lot lately.

When I returned home last night I saw that I had several auto races on the DVR.

Including practice and qualifying, several shows from F1, IndyCar and NASCAR.

I deleted all of the IndyCar and NASCAR before bothering to watch, then sped through the Hungarian GP.

Maybe racing isn't working for me this year.

But I can't wait for a new season of The Great British Baking Show.

It is all about the relationships between the bakers and hosts for me, with their support and compassion making for many watchable moments.

Wife and I just finished watching the original Frasier on Paramount+. It's silly and well written. Some of the antics are over the top, but I still find it funny.

We did splurge a bit a few years ago and went ad free on Paramount ($6/month more), and it's well worth it to me. I watch a lot of the Star Trek series on Paramount as well, so I enjoy not getting blitzed with ads.

I haven't seen Section 31. All I know about it is that it's a spinoff of Discovery. Timeline-wise, it's between Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, and TNG.

Discovery is set a decade before TOS in the 23rd century, but then time travel happens and it ends up in the 32nd century.

Lower Decks is an animated series and focuses on the "low-ranking support crew of the starship Cerritos in the 24th century." I find it to be hilarious, and one of the best Star Trek series out there. They even did a crossover episode with Strange New Worlds that was extremely well done.

Which reminds me, I forgot to mention Strange New Worlds on the list of available series.

Alien Earth. Slower start with explanations of what is happening on Earth before the bugs arrive. Tensions are building with some lovely/creepy scenes though. Enjoyed some of the 70s computer tech represented from the original movie, but lots of CGI. Only 3 episodes are out at this point and it seems decent if you like this kind of thing.

I also found Lower Decks to be hilarious. It's meant to be a show that takes itself too seriously and some of the characters are really a "poke in the eye" to previously serious characters.

I've not yet seen Section 31, but it looks interesting.

I've seen the first 2 seasons of Strange New Worlds and I found it to be pretty good.

Thank you for reminding me about Discovery, I watched the first 3 seasons on Netflix then forgot about it. It seems Paramount has seasons 1-5.

I don't think the animated series will interest me but Section 31 and Strange New Worlds certainly should.

I watched the DEVO documentary on Netflix last night.

The band's view of humanity's de-evolution, then effectively putting that into their art and music made for an entertaining experience.

I saw them play at the Music Box in Omaha in 1979, just as they were hitting their moment of fame.

In my opinion, one of the best dramatic 'Mystery' series PBS has ever distributed-- "Patience".

For those who haven't heard of it, the eponymous title is also the name of the eccentric, brilliant and always surprising protagonist, a young autistic woman who, in her own unique ways, occasionally comes across as an emotionally challenged 21st Century version of Sherlock Holmes. Only better.

And to give credit where credit is due, "Patience" is a remake of the intriguing French series, "Astrid" - though perhaps "reimagining" is a better word than remake, as the English version, though faithful in many ways to the French series, has a slightly different tone and focus.
