A lot of sadness today ..... Words fail me ..... All my thoughts to the victim families

Thanks for posting. I wanted a thread but was too distraught to start one.
Hearts here and around the world are with you, France and especially the victims and survivors.

This is just heartbreaking.

From the USA - the country that would have not achieved independence without the the assistance of France - our hearts and prayers are with you.

So sad...it's so hard to understand how little those idiots value human lives and rights.

FR i posted on the other France thread but just know my thoughts and prayers are with you and your country. Special place in hell for those cowards. It will nit get them closer to Allah. Just the opposite.

I am so sorry for the victims and their families. We all must stand united in fighting our common enemy and not let the terrorists take our freedom.

Not just in France but also Beirut the day before with 43 dead and approx. 250 injured and would have been worse but for the man who sacrificed himself when he spotted a second terrorist about to detonate a bomb.

I will never understand how people can think there is anything worth becoming a suicide bomber or do such things to others.

My heart grieves for all those killed or injured in the senseless cowardly attacks.

I feel that. Just trying to wrap your head around it and the politics dumped on top of it makes my head spin.

These people are not cowards, though. Senseless, maybe. Driven by a hatred fueled by religion, for sure.

I happened to noticed many parked Vespas (quite a few 300s) and other scooters at the live footage of the Bataclan Hall hostage and cafe shootings. This means that there might be Vespa/scooter riders casualties, or they were at close range. I don't know if any of the French members here or their friends have knowledge of this, but it brings this tragedy quite close to us. Scooter riders indeed mourning Paris. Our prayers are with them.

Paris is and always will be the City of Light. Also a great town for scooters. I will continue to visit and enjoy the moveable feast.

Ironically, we had plans to meet, for the first time, the new French Consulate General to Houston on Saturday evening, after the attacks. The diplomat is a cousin of one of my best friends. He and his wife were a real pleasure to meet. On Sunday morning they were holding a vigil at the consulate building in Houston.

On a social note, he was very delighted and surprised to hear that a 60+ year old couple got around a city that is known more for it's traffic and urban sprawl than being a fun place to ride motor bikes or ride bicycles.

He and his wife were very nice and I think impressed with the outpouring of American support for the French.

FLANDERS i noticed them to last nite. Was watching a news clip about that attack. I hope the owners of the Vespa's made it out alright. Everyone else to. These senseless attacks have got to stop. No way is that the Muslim culture. Just a bunch of thugs justifying killing.
