I started to tackle repainting my MP3 this weekend. I got the front tupperware done and will move to the back next weekend. When I got it the PO did a really crappy job of trying to paint some flames on it. I did a quick paint job over those flames just to cover them up. My original plans were to paint it bright yellow but once I had the white primer on it I really liked it so I just kept it white. That's the good news.

The sad news is that I most likely will be looking for something with more power. I was with a friend this past week and he wanted to take a ride up to Tampa, about a 100 miles away. I was really not comfortable on the highway as I was close to WOT most of the time. Taking day trips like that is not something that I had originally thought I'd be doing but now I want the option to be able to do that. I do like the MP3, but the 250 just doesn't have enough guts for me to be comfortable running 70MPH. Used 500s are rare around here and when one does pop up it seems they want way more then I'm prepared to spend. I currently have my eye on a Honda Silver Wing I might pick up so my MP3 250 will most likely be on the market shortly.

Anyways, here are a couple pics of the front tupperware painted. I'll post more once the back is done.

Bike looks good! In fairness, your story is much like mine. I owned an MP3 250 for a couple of years. I was impressed by the technology and the stability at speed, but the bike simply did not have enough power for it's weight. I replaced it with a BV 350 which has 50% more power and weighs about 100# less. I take that bike where ever I want, and ride with most anybody. It was a positive step for me. The new 500 shows promise, but for me it would be a lot of money and a fairly small gain over what I can do already.
