Modern Vespa

Does anyone know when Vespa are likely to announce next years models and changes? I need to buy a new scooter very soon but am considering waiting to see if anything exciting is announced for next year.

Rumours I've heard so far include a 350cc GTS and either an upgraded PX with ABS (to meet new requirements) or the withdrawal of the PX (again...and in which case there'll surely be a llimited farewell edition).

There's been a 350 GTS rumoured for a while, I read on anther forum that the Beverly engine doesn't easily fit into the current GTS frame so I guess Piaggio would need to spend a fair amount developing the scooter. As for the current bike, it's well developed with no real faults IMHO, I'd get a test ride on it, you'll the see just how good it is.

This has been discussed a fair amount recently. People who know more than I have said that the recently redesigned ABS/ASR 300 probably has a bit longer model life before being replaced. Down the road, the consensus seems to be that a GTS 350 is unlikely due to the size and requirements of the 350 engine. Probably a more compact new engine design for an upgraded GTS at some point.

I suspect you're right. Also I rode a current GTS 300 (for the first time) a few weekends back and it was superb, couldn't fault the engine or power. I'm more interested in what (if anything) they do with the PX.
