Modern Vespa

Greetings:

Long story short, my 2006 Vespa 150 is in the shop. The local Vespa dealer place left a voice message for me today, indicating what I thought he said was that he needed the "Master Key" in order to change out the "CD Box" or "CV Box" or something? Is there such thing as a "Master Key" that I don't know of? I bought my Vespa used from a private owner and he doesn't know anything about a Master Key.

Can anyone shed light on this and help me with what I need to do?

Yes, the master key is brown/red and rather important. I'm guessing he said CDI box. More info here:

Oh no. That's obviously not good. Not even sure where to start at this point. Thank you for the info.

If the CDI needs replacing and you have no master (brown) key, then you'll need a new lock set as well. Not too expensive.

They called & said about $80 for the new lockset, so that isn't too bad assuming it'll then get them into the CVI.
