Hello everyone. I'm new to the forum and new to scooters. I recently purchased a 2006 gt200. It was running a little rough, so I took the carb apart and cleaned it up. It helped out a lot but I noticed that the accelerator pump was wet around the shaft at the rubber boot. So I figure I should change it out. My problem is I cannot find a place to buy this part. Even the Keihin website has let me down. Can anyone help me out?

Try Af1 Racing:
https://www.af1racing.com/store/Scripts/prodList.asp?idCategory=2682 Select the link to your 2006 GT & find the part in that spare parts catalogue. https://www.af1racing.com/store/ProdImages/st3/EVG2000US2.pdf Try page 31. There is a acceleration pump kit listed: CM156708 It is described as a complete float chamber when checking for part availability. https://www.af1racing.com/store/Scripts/prodView.asp?idProduct=31810 You should be able to find other suppliers by searching the site. |

If you are looking for the black rubber bellows like in the photo below, you can get them from any Harley-Davidson dealer. They used Keihin CV40 carbs for years. I used the bellows from a CV40 on another members GT200 about four years ago.

If you are actually pushing fuel past the accelerator pump position (the silver colored part in my photo above) I would suspect two possible problems.
1) the tiny passageways leading from the accelerator pump to the throat of the carb are plugged. When the piston moves, the fuel has nowhere to go but past the piston and the bellows. In the photo below the accelerator pump nozzle is circled. When you twist the throttle you should get a strong spray off fuel from the nozzle. If not the passages or nozzle are likely plugged. Or 2) your accelerator pump position is so worn that the fuel just passes freely past it and leaks out the bellows. There is no real "seal" in this design. #1 above is the most likely scenario. The float bowl and carb body need to be disassembled and soaked in carb cleaner for a week or so. Or ultra sonic cleaning is faster. -craig |

I appreciate your help. -craig |

For clarity... In my last post there are a couple of place where I wrote "accelerator pump position". That is an auto correct error. It should have read "accelerator pump piston". Don't want to confuse anyone with the terminology.

That was so helpful to know! Nowadays you can get a CV40 rebuild kit on Amazon for $13 and indeed includes the below.
