My 200 motor makes a chattering/clanking noise when I engage the clutch, with flywheel cover on or off. The flywheel does move out ever so slightly, but I understand that to be normal. The bearings both sides of the crank were new maybe 4000 miles ago and are decent quality (SIP Performance). The cush drive has been completely rebuilt with Malossi springs, 63T primary and new bearings. Clutch is reinforced 7 spring with Malossi 24T cog, stronger springs and four Newfren carbon plates. It was torqued down to spec. with a DRT spacer/washer between it and the main bearing.
Apart from crank bearing play, which I'm pray is not the case, are there other reasons why pulling the clutch would create such a noise? I plan to pull the clutch tomorrow to check the plates. The last set of plates (Malossi) got chewed up and I'm seriously considering going back to three plates if the same has happened again.
Cheers.
