Hi Guys,

noob here for 2012 GTS Super 125cc. I've been buying tools and stuff to do my own vespa repairs. I recently took it in for service in the Bermuda shop (only authorized shop), its super expensive here (everything from food to clothes, and motorcycle parts).
Anyways the mechanic told me that it needs "some clutch work" and "valve work, adjustment".

The clutch is a bit slow (the bike takes some time to take off), and has a hissing noise. So I was wondering if this part would help me fix the http://www.sip-scootershop.com/en/products/variator+pinasco+overslide+_10261319.

In addition, he mentioned that the other noise coming from the bike could be the bike needing valve adjustment. I don't think I can do this myself it looks complicated as heck from my research.

Any help would be greatly appreciate it

Aloha and welcome to the forum from Hawaii. You might have clutch glaze. You can use some sandpaper to rough it up a little. What is the noise (the hissing?). Snakes? Razz emoticon Kidding. Valves, when they need adjusting usually present with hard starting. Never heard about them hissing. Are you mechanically inclined? If so,go to the wiki section and their are tutorials on most everything. Also if you have a scooter shop that works on different types, they could look up the tutorials and do it for you. Wouldn't have to take it to a Vespa dealer. We don't have a good dealer here. So our group works on the scoots or we take it to a moped shop who can work on them for us. Much cheaper $25 an hr for most things as opposed to $100. They do good work also. Hope this helps. Got any pics of your scooter? We love pics. Hope this helps. At 25,000 your valves probably need to be looked at. Mine are due also. I have 35,600 miles on my LX 150. Haven't checked them in over 20,000 miles. Nerd emoticon I see that it's KM. Nerd emoticon I'd still do the valve check.
