Glad you like it. Few months ago I was considering getting one but went for primavera instead. Nothing wrong with GTS, but it's been for a while and could do with a refresh imo. When piaggio updates it I'll swap mine for one.
is that a fire engine at the back? cool |

Hi basherburton,
If you didn't find enough people being happy about their GTS300 then it's probably because you didn't search/find enough such posts. There do exist, plenty. Understand that there are many post each day on the MV forum, about a zillion by now. Many MV members are very happy with that machine. Great looking and fun to ride. During both peronal riding and heaps of cumulated club members miles, the GTS has proven to be a reliable friend. Just take care of her and give her the maintenance she needs, and she keeps running. In the years in our club, I never saw one single of the many GTS' break down during our club rides. I think that's statistically significant. You sure ain't the only one who loves that beauty. Welcome to MV and have a great time riding your 300. |

IMO, GTS300 is one of the best scooters one can buy, as long as one can afford it (and the maintenance). It's well built, solid, fun to ride, look gorgeous, can carry an incredible amount of stuff, and can be outfitted with winter tires for more sure-footedness in cold weather. it has plenty of power for urban and suburban riding, has very comfortable seat and great ergonomics (for a scooters). The engine is smooth even at higher speeds. The suspension is decent, though the small wheels can deliver sharp kicks on rough roads.
I got ride of mine because I could have only one bike and for my body type the riding position was not comfortable for longer rides (I was using it for weekend rides and for tours, as well). If I could afford two bikes I'd get a GTS for in-town riding in a heartbeat. Especially now that they have ABS. |

Great bike but it's one of the most stolen bikes in your part of the world. London seems to be the worst. Don't know about Manchester. Just get some good locks and keep it close.Sad that people have to steal. Special place in hell for those folks. Pics when you get it please.

I had a 250 and have upgraded to a 300. Both are great bikes. I have a total mileage of 22,000. If you still have doubts, ask Quezzie. She has done 50,000 on her 250. All 48 states and all four corners.
The GTS is a little light up front and this tail-heaviness does mean it gets through rear tires sooner than one would expect. |

Heck, the GTS is the best large frame classic scooter design on the market. I'm not even sure who you might claim is in second place.

"Good?" Nope...amazing.
There is a school of thought that assesses the goodness/desirability/utter-coolness of a vehicle based on where it sits on the most-likely-to-be-stolen list. Regarding cars (at least in the US), the Honda Accord tops the list. In terms of scooters in the UK, that would be...Vespa's GTS 300 (and, presumably, the 125 variant sold there).
At any rate, I've had mine for a mere two months, and so far it totally lives up to the hype: fast enough to travel legally on most any highway/motorway, yet small and nimble enough to make its way smartly through congested areas without having to strong-arm it. Add in the usual fuel-economy pluses, ABS and traction control, decent storage capacity and that imitated-but-not-quite-duplicated je ne sais quoi (yep, mixing up French and Italian today) that comprises Vespa's DNA, and it adds up to the bike you're riding right now. That's the really good part - you already own it. Nothing to do now but ride.

I have both a GTS300 and a GT200. Have put a combined 50,000 miles on both of them since I bought the GT first in 2010. They are similar but different machines indeed. I use the 300 now for longer trips and have had no issues to speak of in the 18 months I've had it.

The GTS series are amazing. I'm guessing you are hearing/reading more of complaints because they are easier to find whereas the people that love their Vespa GTS scooter are out riding instead of posting about how much they love their Vespa. We hear good things all day and most of us here ride on GTS300 scooters daily.

While I do not own one, I hope to in time. For me, I am looking for a simple comfortable bun bucket that does not feel as if a piece of 2X4 plank is shoving its way into my prostate after only riding 5 miles. For me, Two wheelers are like shoes, its gotta feel right or I won't be very happy. As for reliability?
Jeez! Just look at the history Vespa has. I like the idea of an all steel frame coupled with the easy ingress and egress the scooter offers. Again, I only want a Vespa 300 for pleasure. Which model? Hum... Looks-wise? GTV has it hands down. But? Back in 2012 when I got an opportunity to sit on one it felt like the riding upright posture was to far forward. I am only 5'11" with a 31" inseam, yet, Beautiful saddle in my opinion. Its neat to see Scooter West chime in here as I am a BIG FAN of your You Tube videos. I am slightly embarrassed to admit re-watching Steve and "Robot" demonstrate a "Murdered Out GTS300" The loud horns, LED/HID light add ons are for me all about safety. Well... Coolness comes to mind as well Somehow, I disabled comments on YouTube and I cannot finger-out how to enable the damned yak-yak deally-thing-ah-mah-bob! So? For me, I will continue living vicariously through you all in this thing I shall deem as... "Twist an Go Fun" |

Good - NO
Fantastic - YES That sums up what I think, I just wish I'd bought mine earlier in the year so I could have rode it through summer. |

I have a GTS 300 Super Sport SE. Love it. This is actually my 2nd one. I had a GTV300 and swapped it for the matte black and sportier vibe. I also own a triumph street triple 675 and have owned Ducatis and MV Agustas. None of these has quite captured my appeal like my GTS300 - for the cost, utility, and fun. Can't beat it.
