Howdy. I have been a motorcyclist for about 17 years, and an avid Triumph owner. Now I have a new 2015 Vespa GTS 300 Super ABS, purchased in Richmond, Virginia. This Friday I'll be riding it back home, 4 hours south in Chapel Hill, NC, and am excited to return home through the rural Virginia and North Carolina countryside. I'm sure I will reading this forum daily to learn from all of you and enjoy the new ownership of Vespa. Regards.

Hope it's a good day for the ride. Lovely countryside. Did similar (though only half that) when I picked up my GTS this spring.

BTW, if your seat seems a bit hard after all that time in the saddle, it gets better. I was missing my old LX seat that day, but all is good.

Thanks to all or the kind comments. I brought home the GTS 300 today in a 4 hour ride - partially via the highway, and part through the country. Had to rush to get home due to the approaching early sunset and dropping temps. I was AMAZEd with the Vespa's capabilities on the road, at speed, and with all else that the ride entailed. The nine is so smooth and the variable transmission is flawless. Compared to my Triumph Bonneville motorcycle, the Vespa was even more comfortable and quite capable. I can see going across the country on the scoot. Regards.

Well, I'm pleased to hear you like the ride. You will have many more miles of fun on that thing. You'll be the Speedy Conzales of your neighborhood 8) Take it easy with the throttle in the first days. That scoot ts quite another way of riding and cornering than the average motorcycle. You'll love it, leep safe!

I like to think of it as my scooter crying and moaning because we're done riding already.

Better watch out, the next thing you know you'll be entering the Scooter Cannonball just to because it give you the opportunity to ride cross country (and time permitting back.) Laughing emoticon
